I’m talking nowadays compared to countries in South asia and the middle east and other parts of the world between different religious groups and different sects within a religion. is it that people are just more open minded and try to integrate with other belief systems or the atheist system?

People in these regions somehow failed to catch up with the civilization. Don’t forget that Europeans history is also full of wars based on religion but they got wise and evolved out of it.
