Re: why Aren’t there Religious Fights/Violence in the Western World?
It’s not a case of some tiny little insignificant place.
Tony Blair, who for a decade was one of the world’s most powerful men, was unable to convert to Catholicism during his time as the UK’s leader because of the problems it would have caused to the peace process in Northern Ireland.
Despite attending only Catholic Churches during his time as Prime Minister, Tony Blair had to public insist he was a Protestant. Only after being removed from power, and no longer having an connection to the peace process, did he admit he is now Catholic.
So the sectarian tension in one of the UK’s constituent nations is bad enough that even the leader of the UK was unable to freely state which sect of Christianity he believed in. and had to pretend to be from the majority sect in the country.
i’m talking about religious violence, one religious group killing another religious group. Where do you see that in the UK? i’m not talking about discrimination against a belief system
