I am a guy and can find salvage in the phrase "boys will be boys" - but to be honest, I hate that phrase. I like to be a human being who should be disciplined enough to act according to the situation, being respectful and sensitive and firm accordingly. Guys (and their mothers) formulated the phrase just to justify the stupidities and weaknesses of male human.

Here is what you women don't get. Men are boys. We will always be boys. You ever gone with a bunch of guys to a car expo? E3? ComicCon? The guy could be 50 years old and he would be giddy like a 2 year old over the stuff. Then again they have understanding wives.
Seen a bunch of guys watch a sports game? Just like kids. Superstitious rituals, bickering and god knows what else. If you fail to understand something so simple you fail to understand men.
And any guy who says he doesn't have his "boyness" in him is very repressed or lying.
