well, you are noting what you saw, and there can be more to the story.
I suppose other ladies were talking about kids cuz they are married..(unless things have changed in desi circles in VA)
so her outburst is rude, regardless of the reason
..however we dont know the reason
it could be because she was bored and whatever and lashed out improperly as you stated
or it could be that other ladies in the group there were saying things that were, or perceived be her to be dismissing her because she is unmarried..I mean unless we can vouch that all the other ladies attending there were angels and would never make comments that will be designed to irk someone, this possibility can not be dismissed and could be a possibility.
lastly, it comes down to courtesy of all involved, maybe its a guy thing that chicas need to learn, in our gatherings, if there is a guy who is new, or maybe does not share the interest that other guys have there whether by career, sports whatever…people will step back and try to include the person and stop being fixated on a topic that not everyone is into,
the same is seen when non pakistani ppl are at an event, guys would switch to english or there may be different conversations going on, while my observations in general is that non desi girls usually dont get included.
so..the question remains, why are people so selfish and rude…but my gut feel is that she was not the only one who was selfish or rude at that event.
