LOL, who knows? Maybe she feels insecure or jealous about you having kids …and she having none.
We may not realize we’re harping on about a subject. I’m guilty of that as well. Maybe you were talking about kids too much. And for someone who doens’t have kids…it can be hard from them to relate to you. It doesn’t mean that one shouldn’t talk about their kids at all…but if the person you’re speaking to is not at that stage of life…it’s good to try and vary the conversation topics.
BUT…I do FULLY agree with you that the girl was rude. Even if she did think you were boring, she could have stayed quiet about it. Or she could have changed the subject herself. Or she could have made an excuse…gotten up…and left to interact with other people. She’s plain tactless…doesn’t have class. There are many ways to handle a situation and she picked the most juvenile method.
People tend to be more polite with strangers…and more carefree/rough with those that they are familiar with. For example, we’re more likely to be carelessly snippy with our own siblings than someone we meet at a party. If she’s behaving like that with you…I wonder how she behaves with those that are closer to her. What goes around tends to come around. She doesn’t pay your bills, don’t worry about her. You don’t owe her anything. She’s not obligated to like you…and same goes for you. The people who respect you and value you are more deserving of your attention and time. She’s not one of them. Just move on
