it was aimed at anyone who’s crying for humanity and justice as a sole solution for all their problems. the popular concept of humanity was born in the western world. it was the great western philosophers who made humanity or justice to a popular subject of the political discourse in the history. why western philosophers? because humanity has never been an option to the western civilization, but power. unethical and inhumane power. therefore a lack of fundamental justice in the western world gave birth to variouse counter ideologies to the values and practices that dominated their culture - communism, humanism, nihilism, socialism, anarchy, atheism etc. asking a white man for justice is like asking a pig to fly and greet lucy in the sky.

but that’s b/c i had two really sweet pakistani friends in college and i lost touch with
them, i think like barbiecue said, they were actually closer to me and I got along better with them than i did with some of my indian ones. I don’t know how it ended up happening that way

Its actually really embarrassing for us desis (indians/pakistanis/bangladeshis etc) living outside of our home countries to see our people fight like maniacs. We have plenty of indian (hindu and sikh) family friends here in Ireland and, to be honest, I get along better with them than I do with some of the pakistanis. Even when there are news reports of bomb attacks in India or Pakistan, and the neighbouring country is to blame, there is NEVER any negativity among the desi community here.

The original premise for this thread is a bit extreme - use of the word obsession. I have an interest in the well being of all Pakistanis and Indians. In the short time I have been here, I have noticed good humor and some really funny posts.

So my being here does not imply obsession on my part, but just a willingness and desire to extend a hand of friendship.

If you look at the comments of almost every desi youtube video, Pakistanis and Indians manage to fight every time. You watch an amazing music video by atif or Fuzon or shreya ghosal and end up with a headache seeing the comments of people from both sides of the border who can't see past religious differences and man made borders. Everything has to be about Islam or Hinduism, about who is better.
