Because I have often read that Islam is a fast growing religion. At the same time I read this contradictory statement of yours that Islam and Muslims at large must be kept apart.

And do you think that passionate Muslims are real followers of Islam?

anjjan, simply put, actions of a handful of Muslims are not the correct representation of Islam. I would personally refer to tafsirs and other detailed texts than merely taking verses out of the context or referring to the actions of a few as the message of Islam.

For instance, if I decide to be stupid and think it's okay to rob/punch an individual because he/she happens to be a non-Muslim, then it's not something you could blame Islam for; rather it's a shortcoming and lack of knowledge on my part and not something legislated by Islam. this is just a simple example

As for passionate Muslims being real followers, it's difficult to answer. I'm sure there are many who are passionate and follow the teachings of Islam in an appropriate manner, whereas you have many others who twist the texts to suit their own needs.

I'm quite familiar with you and the last thing I wish to do is bicker with you. I know exactly how it ends up. I hope this answers your query.

"passionate" is a euphemism.

Muslims are not passionate. Otherwise, they would actually behave like muslims.

Muslims are irrational and emotional. Maybe that's what was actually meant when it was said that muslims are "passionate".

galat! muslims are very passionate. Rarely you find a muslim who is lazy, steals or disrespects others, esp. women. We tend to love our wives and children unlike west and Alhamdulillah we dont have bania traits

there are thousands of well qualified people who have left the luxuries of modern life and devoting their efforts to spread awareness regarding Krishna (ISKON)-- Hinduism..

Yes, the ISKCON believers are very passionate in their belief and love for Krishna. A majority of them have not been brought up in ISKCON since their childhood but by practicing the same mental exercises the ISKCON succeeds in a very little period of time to make them totally passionate.

Have you ever paid attention that the ISKCON believers never listen to any one? They have a curtain around their mindset that Lord ** Krishna is the ultimate truth **.

And their debates are very funny. They DEBATE only in favor of Krishna.

And they call it a ‘DEBATE’…..in which perception, I can not understand.

No i was not talking about suicide bombing. I was talking about people like Syed Qutb and Sheikh Ali Timimi and Ayman al Zawahiri.

Suicide bombing was first started by Tamil tigers. I guess they are very passionate to their cause and they happen to be hindus.

Lazy = Go to middle east countries and see how much work gets done in offices.
Steals = Are you serious? go to Pakistan and see in any market.
Disrespects others = Again go to middle east countries (few exceptions) and check out the human right violations.

First of all i never said suicide bombing was a good measure of how passionate a group is to its cause.

Secondly, i was talkin about professor and scientists who have given up their proffessions so that they can work full time propagating Islam.

Thirdly, suicide bombing is just a type of a suicide attack where the attacker knows he is going to die for sure, but he's dead sure that he's gonna harm the enemey in the process. This type of warfare has been going on for centuries.

Lastly, yes the tamil tigers are passionate about their cause. So what? What does that have to do with the discussion going on? Aren't we discussing religion here.. and not just freedom fighting?

I object. It has nothing to do with the truthfulness or falsehood of a religion. It is a matter of psychology.

Majority of Muslims spend their childhood at some Madrisa while learning Quran.

In India the RSS conducts the same drill type learning for its members (since their childhood) and these RSS Hindus are also very passionate about their religion.

Its a very simple theory.

This must be written in golden ink, framed and placed on the opening webpage of GS. My recommendation ...... :D
