The 5 times prayer is not a magic potion. At best it can instill in us virtues of discipline, patience and humbleness which ideally should help us become better individuals, ultimately making up a generally good society with successful people ... and so on and so forth. Easier said than done! Right?
We are failing because we missed the bus of technical innovation and advancement; and instead got on the bus of being terminally-out-of-touch with reality. Our over-obsession with the literalistic aspects of our religion has also played a very disruptive role in our development.
