I wrote a brutal exam today and was online chatting with my family back home. I was finally actually laughing and smiling after so many days, seeing my brother and sister on the webcam. Phir they asked my mom to come talk to me and she said: Meri itni hi zaroorat thi to baahir na jati.
Man that really killed my day and the days to come for me. Why does she do that? Doesn’t she know I miss and love her but I also have my own life? Why can’t parents accept that we can love them without clinging to them?
Why are they so scared to let go? sigh
Awww, its because she genuinely cares. No matter how old you are and you move out for them letting go is always going to be hard. My mom is the same way, she’ll tell me one day I need to be more independent the next she’ll even go as far as making my bed for me. They want you to be successful and independent yet in some ways still be dependent of them always, they need to know that they are needed. You’ll always be their little girl, so involve her in your life, ask her for advice just make her feel that even though you are away, you still need her.
Hum Sa tell me about it. I have been on the recieving end of guilt rips like these for years. I think that is how desi parents are or at least that is how my parents are.
Humsa she cares about you and misses you. It’s hard for parents to ‘let their kid go’. I’m sure said it bcuz she was missing you. Don’t let it get to you darlin’
and on the other hand my mom is the one who was the main force behind me going to do my undergrad abroad, in summer vacations and winter vacations mummy used to say udhar reh k koi internship karo but i used to come running back home after graduation mummy wanted me to stay in the usa for masters but i came running back home and now mummy is telling me to do masters abroad, she says ‘kya saari umar mere pallu se bandhi raho gi’ and i’m like noooo mummy i dont wana go anywhere
Some moms or ive to say many moms always see you
as a little boy/girl no matter how old u are.
Sometimes they dont wanna see that u are old enough
to live ur own life.
Humsa… trust me, i bet ur mum wont even remember she said that to u… try using a similar line on her and u’ll get ur butt whipped hehe
my mum says similar things and i usually go to my room and sook for awhile.. like i did today on a later date, remind her of what she said… and trust me she’ll decline and then repeat it hehehe
i love my mama i can always count on her for never changing.. i love consistency

Yeah paindoo, she wasn't. My fault. Never post your intimate thoughts on gup. What was I expecting? SYMPATHY?

Mothers know how to get you exactly where it hurts. ouch all the way.
They love you like noone else can and they can hurt you just as forcefully.
