One of the things I love about Hinduism is that there is that freedom. There is nothing that says that you have to do certain things or you have to pray every day. Also what's cool is that Hinduism says that a person doesn't have to convert because already all religions believe in that same one God so there is no need to convert.
I think if a person wants to have a clear and better understanding of what Hinduism really is the best book to read is "Am I a Hindu?". The author explains everything so clearly and th way that he has written it, even a 5 year old can understand.
I remember a while ago, a pakistani guppy had posted the fact that a couple of Hindu temples were destroyed in Pakistan and converted to mosques. Why didn't Hindus riot over this issue when this happened in Pakistan like the Muslims did over Babri Masjid? These temples were places of worship for hundreds of years and were so easily destroyed by Muslims. Why doesn't anybody ever make a big deal about this?
Agree with you sister its our mistake. Because islam does not preach this nor does any religion on the face of earth.
There is an interesting article by great grand son of Abul Kalam Azad who says he
is offended by it as a muslim. He cites Iqbal's verse on Ram, where
Iqbal says
Hai Ram ke wajood pe Hindostan ko naaz/Ahl-e-nazar samajhtey hein usko
Imam-e-Hind!
Why are most Hindus, even the secular and the so-called liberal ones, so offended by Center's contention that there is no evidence to suggest existence of Rama?
\
the same reason when someone says something against your faith. see blind faith blinds people. they dont look at the logic of what they are doing.
Hindus are offended....well, but have not come to streets, have not started burning the public property, killings, have not threatened to kill the ignorants, issuing fatwas etc.
Just compare it to the ethics of the good and peaqceful religions of the West!!!
You sound like one of those brainwashed, selfrighteous and extremist Hindutva folk.
Is it Semitic/Western religions who teach the killing of shudras (low-castes) named Shambuka for doing *tapasya *(meditation/penance)? You will not find that in the Torah, Gospel or Koran, it's actually in the Ramayana. You'll find that it was your Rama who did that, it was not Moses, Muhammed or Jesus (peace be upon them), on the contrary they taught equality of mankind and embraced the downtrodden and outcast.
Is it Semitic/Western religions who burn(t) alive widows?
Is it Semitic/Western religions who offer human sacrifices of low-caste and casteless children to their Deity?
Sorry if I offended anyone but what goes round comes round, your posts are offensive, get off your high horse, Muslims are no angels but neither are you Hindus.
Looking to defend the crimes of our peaceful fellow Hindus are we?
Let me tell you why it took place, the Gujarat incident took place because a technical fault on some train caused a fire and killed some Hindu passengers, like with every other crime in India the poor Indian Muslims got blamed for it, the Hindutva brigade took these false accusations as an excuse to go on a slaughter/rape-spree against the Muslims, the extremist Hindus were aided by the authorities because they had inside information on which houses were Muslim (to be torched) and which were Hindu (to be spared), even the Hindu police joined in or spectated whilst the Muslim victims begged for mercy.
The Hindutva folk were once claiming there will be proof under the ruins of the Babri Masjid that there was once a Hindu Temple there so they asked a team of archaeologists to dig up and investiagte but they didn’t find a single piece of substantial evidence to suggest it was ever a place of Hindu worship or the birthplace of Rama.
You guys are full of so much sh*t it’s unreal, just because you keep saying something with confidence will not make it true. Let me tell you that regardless of what some greasy Pundit says, Aryans didn’t originate in India, the Taj-Mahal was built by a foreign Mogul it wasn’t ever a Hindu Temple, the Kaabah was never a Hindu Temple…
You guys need to make a distinction between fairytales and reality, good job we’re not like you or we’d be reading the 1001 Nights during our sermons.
