People are a lot happier at the birth of a son and most women pray for sons, rarely ever for a girl… shouldnt they be praying 4 a healthy baby?

It has more to do with social and cultural values than islam. Dowry and the fact that girls have to leave home after marrige makes them unwanted also usually they are not bread and butter for the family.
Its pity! nevertheless the whole senario is improving all the time.

Majority in heaven are the poor (note, not men so there is no duality)...which obviously include women. I'd assume children are excluded from the count, as all Children go to heaven (yeah, I know in the West this honor is for dogs, but we Muslims are a bit strange that way).
Now, if it were stated that the majority in Hell are to be men, I wonder how or if that would be spun against us...
Now on the other hand, there is another hadith people like bashing Muslims over the head with, and that's every man will get two earthly wives. Now that also implies that the majority in heaven wil also be women...go figure.
Methinks one really needs to look at the context of the hadith in order to fully understand why it was said, and not play this silly games.

Depends on how you define 'Prophets', in Arabic Anbiya is the word that describes Prophets who recieve messages (revealations) through angels or directly, enjoy special status with Allah. While Rassul Allah is used for Messenger who also enjoys status of Anbiya and has a covenant with Allah to deliver his message. Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) was both Prophet (Anbiya) and Messenger (Rassul Allah).
Not all schools of thoughts agree with the above stated ideology, those who do subscribe to this defination believe there were Women Anbiya in Islam such as Bibi Maryam (Mother of Hazrat Issa);
