Its not the girls here or the girls there or the boys here or the boys there…its the parents that came from Pakistan (from an entirely different era) who believe that girls in Pakistan can be easily manipulated so why go through the trouble of marrying here? A girl from a Western country will demand to be treated like a human being and they wont have to deal with such things if the girl is from Pakistan.

I have observed this jealousy on this forum. One understood reason is: these women blame shortage of ABCD men on FOBs and think they stole these men from them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. While some families are looking for quiet desi girls, others are just avoiding loud obnoxious feminism toting maniacs. If you've grown up in the West, you've been influenced by feminism in some way or another and I've seen a lot (not all) of girls taking any little thing as oppression. They act as if men have no pressures or responsibilities. I can see why a MIL would want to avoid that.
Personally, I would like to find a girl like me. I'm westernized, but in terms of thinking and morals, I'm probably like a very liberal Pakistani. I don't want a hijabi, or a club rat. If the right girl is born in Pakistan or elsewhere, it doesn't matter to me.
