Well, there is an aspect of respect… so just like we don’t like to hear about our parents in that sense, we feel uncomfortable talking about our prophet (pbuh) and his wives. However, those examples are given so we can relate to him as a human being and not as a god, that we can understand that even though he had all the emotions and feelings we have, he still followed the right path, and therefore we have a real example to follow.
Regarding aalims… well first of all the credibility of an aalim is very important. Unfortunately our we don’t look up to our aalims for guidance in every area of life because we stereotype that all aalims and maulvis are good for nothing… and because we don’t necessarily look for religious perspectives anymore.
