My question is why Afghanistan is so much against Pakistan and now suddenly a great friends with India? All these years Pakistan is the one that has welcomed Afghan refugees (still doing it). Yet we are the bad guys? I know our government is not perfect but average Pakistani has always loved the Afghan brothers/sisters. Anyone like to shed some light on this??
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
Because rather than acknowledge that they themselves have wrecked their country, they find it easier to blame outside powers.
Because of Pakistan's support for Gulbuddin Hekmatyr and later the Taliban, non-religiously conservative pakhtuns find it very easy to blame pakistan be we supported the religious pakhtuns in Afghanistan's domestic affairs.
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
Actually northern alliance (now in power) was supported by india, financially. and there is a large group of Afghani refugees in india, when pakistan started supporting taliban northern alliance got help from india thats why now that they are in power they have to undermine Pakistan.
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
Because currently Afghanistan is ruled by Northern Alliance....who has no love for Pakistani society & Government.
Second Pakistan always thinks that Afghanistan is Pakistan's backyard...& they can dump all their waste in the Afghani backyard.
Lastly certain Afghanistani circles have never accepted Pakistan as a seperate country & they don't want to accept Durrand Line as a border.
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
Why do Pakistanis hate each others...
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
These ungrateful bas***ds are not loyal to anyone. They want drugs and money and for that they will change loyalties any time of the day. Pakistan should be strict with them and send all those refugess back. No more Mr. nice guy and all that balony about brotherhood.

As I said earlier regardless of government policies. I also have noticed I met quite a few) that common Afghan who were even refugees in Pakistan do not like Pakistanis or Pakistan. Why do you think that is?

because they equate the country and the people with the actions of successive Pakistani governments.
With some justification. Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif, both the fairly elected representatives fo the Pakistani people, backed hekmatyr and later the Taliban. Since Bhutto and Sharif were our elected, representative rulers, we are at least partially accountable for their actions.
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
You should say why some Paskistanis hate each other because I am a Pakistani and I do not hate any other Pakistanis. So this is one person. I also know many other Pakistanis who do not hate other Pakistanis. so here you go buddy, your statment is rhethorical fallacy.
Now back to your question. I would not know the answer since I have not hated anyone for as far as I remember. ![]()

Fair statement mad Scientist. But it is fair to deny that Pakistanis have done anything good for for them.

True. But it is completely fair that we did a lot of harm too. The main reason Kabul is ad devestated as it is was not the Soviet Army's fault. Gulbuddin Hekmatyr, with Pakistani support, besieged and bombarded Kabul reducing it to ruin. Pakistan's goal of planting a compliant and friendly government in Afghanistan inflicted first Hekmatyr and later the Taliban on Afghanistan.
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
Since before Pakistanās creation, Afghanis have been friendly with India. Late Bacha Khan was a personal friend of Mohatama Gandhi.
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
your godamn right no more mr nice guy. i say nuke the allready inhospitable and infertile land. these afghans think that pakistan actually is their land as well. the mofos. the cheeky sons of *****es.

Northern Alliance is the group of mix tribes, mostly the minorities the pashtuun committed ethnic cleansing against. As Taliban was supported by Pakistani goverment, especially the military and Saudi funds, Northern Alliance was the opposition. Yes, Iran and Libanon and some other countries supported the opposition. India was never one of them.
Afghanistan believes Osama and mullah Omar are protected by Pakistan. That all the Talibs comming from Pakistani border across creating new support of former terror regime, is the responibility of Pakistani policy aka former alliance of Taliban regime. There are also a huge question about the drug money and whom were profitting from it, contra now adays. Most Afghanis are skeptic, because Pakistani goverment have no ruling over the frontier and azaad tribal areas. Thus former Taliban exiles enjoy the hospitality of those areas to the regret of Afghanistan.
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
Nope, NOT all afghani people think like that. Those of pashtoon origin are divided between Afghanistan and Pakistan as Punjab. In Baluchistan, the Pashtoon majority wants Pashtunistan along with frontier. Its not a secret, tribal areas feel neglected and feel the punjab domination as forced upon them. Im of afghani origin, so Im being bold. The feeling of nationality is a catchy thing when you reside in tribal areas. I speak farsi as mother tongue, yet Urdu is the language I prefer. Punjabi was easy to learn and so on on.....
Its just to share how to be in kinda two boats. However, Im simply anti taliban and against any extremism. Musharraf is a man with nerves of steel. Rather him at power than any western or mullah dominated party.....
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
Abdullah Abdullah, a former Afghan foreign minister seen in Pakistan as an Indian āclientā, promises that his country will never use its friendship with India to harm Pakistanās interests. But Afghanistan, he says, needs Indian aid, and āPakistan canāt veto that.ā

Afghanistanās ties with India have long been friendlier than those with Pakistan. The Afghans once laid claim to Pushtun tribal areas in Pakistan and still refuse to recognise the Durand Line, the frontier drawn up by British colonial officials. For their part, Pakistanās governments have tried since the early 1970s to counter Pushtun nationalism at home by promoting the pan-Islamic extremism that has been so destabilising in Afghanistan.
India has an obvious interest in a stable Afghanistan. It hopes the country will one day accommodate transmission lines bringing electricity from Central Asia, as well as a pipeline for oil and gas from the region. There are two competing gas-pipeline projects: āTAPIā, running from Turkmenistan via Afghanistan to Pakistan and on to India; and another from Iran through Pakistan to India. Instability in Afghanistan is a big impediment to the first, but America opposes the second. For now, Pakistan refuses to allow Indian goods to cross its territory. But India also hankers after direct trade routes with Central Asia.
A Chinese-Pakistani joint-venture port at Gwadar in Baluchistan, which had its ceremonial opening this week, is matched by an Iranian-Indian venture to develop the āfree portā at Chabahar in the Gulf of Oman. Both would require road links across Afghan territory. Indian engineers are currently connecting Afghanistanās ring road to the Iranian border. The Indian press blamed the abduction and killing in 2006 of an Indian engineer working on the project on Pakistani intelligence, after the Taliban denied involvement.
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
To surprise some of u.. iam a pure afghan from jilalabad and kabul... When it comes to love for pakistan.. I agree that most of afghan don't like pakistanis, because of the Durand line and Talibans. Since it is said that most of the taliban's were sent from pakistan and mostly were pakistanis.. I personally love pakistanis, lived there nearly all my life.. I totally agree that pakistani welcomed afghan refugees and helped them alot.. But it is they also took advantage of them...For example: Afghans who were new refugees had to pay a damn high rent for only a room and on top of that they had to pay advance which they would never get back.. All these issues caused afghans not to like pakistanis... and personally i am totally against talibans or any religious extremist... Just imagine.. how ur life would become if u weren't allowed to go to school and not to leave home alone or without the heavy burqa..... There is always a reason for likeing or dislikeing others...

That might be true in Karachi because people from that region are very business minded, I myself have experienced this sort of behaviour from Karachian friends, in school days if one of their dads gave us a lift somewhere they would expect petrol/gasoline money (much to the embarassment of their ABCD kids) even though they were driving there for there own son anyway.
That isn't true for people from NWFP and Punjab though, half the people from my village are expats abroad and they have big mansions and bungalows back in the ancestral village and we have Afghan refugees living there for free, all that is expected of them is to tend to the gardens, in fact we send them money back home like we send our families... They are still ungreatful though.
Afghans are like that, they didn't accept Pakistan right from its birth.. It makes me laugh when they bring up the Durrand line excuse, the Afghan king was too weak so he gave that land to the British and the whole world saw it as a permanent arrangement and they still do, Pakistan won the land from the British so it is ours, Afghan lost all rights to it when they weren't men enough to fight the British. They should have beef with the British not with Pakistan.
Indians are more reasonable and less hateful than Afghans and that's saying something.. Best thing would be for Pakistan to deport all Afghan refugees regardless of the consequences for them, they've tested our patience too long, we can't let our enemies leech off us and live amongst us any longer.. I wish they'd go away when they say they will instead of getting the grant-money from our goverment then settling back down in the same village or another.. After that mine and fence the border, enough is enough, we have some self respect as well..
I use to get all defensive for Afghans when Indians or Sikhs said anything about them but I don't care about them anymore, Afghans are totally insignificant in the world anyway because they can neither benefit nor harm Pakistan, best thing for Pakistan is to think about its future and secure peace with countries which matter such as India, I know they are our enemy but we have cultural similarities and we don't have a history of enmity older than half a century (it wasn't our kings who attacked them)..
Re: Why Afghanistan hate us!
For example: Afghans who were new refugees had to pay a damn high rent for only a room and on top of that they had to pay advance which they would never get back..
Thanks for your kind words.
There were reasons for the issues you raised.
In the beginning when Afghanis came, multiple Afghani families rented single houses and each room of the house got occupied by a different family. The families used to cook (still do) in their own rooms and the land-lords soon discovered that their houses were getting immensely damaged. Hence, the rental prices started creeping up. The locals feel that the local rental rate sky-rocketed because of Afghanis. Afghanis were willing to pay twice the rent compared to what a local would pay (as multiple families live(d) in the same house).
