It’s the least we can do!?
6:00am-Wake up as early or as late as possible.
Take time to be thankful for a new day.
Stretch before getting out of bed!
Get up, open drapes/blinds-stretch some more, limber up by doing doing side bends, brush hair if needed to look presentable.
***You don’t want to look like a ‘wild possum’ in front of your husband, children or milkman…
6:15am-Drink filtered, warm water with lemon juice and a little honey if desired.
***This keeps the digestive system working nicely and also keeps you regular.
***This also has the added benefit of making you cheerful and sociable when everything is in good working order.
Fix a pot of coffee, tea or tisane of your choice to be ready when you get out of the shower.
6:30am-Shower with cool water, dry with *course towel, deodorant-natural brand, no aluminum.
Trim toenails, pumice heels and other rough spots once a week.
*If skin is sensitive, pat dry.
***Moisturize where and if needed daily.
Put on make-up if you wear it, dry & fix hair or comb and scrunch hair with soft hair spray or mouse.
Get dressed.
Take all dirty clothes/linens to laundry.
7:15am-Breakfast with your husband and children if applicable.
Have coffee, tea or tisane; *eat fruit and fix quick simple food that is good for you.
*Afterward, take vitamins with water or juice.
Get children off to school, husband off to work and always be loving and cheerful.
Never let them leave on a sour note.
8:00am-Have daily quiet time, read a chapter/devotion in your bible, pray, and refresh the Spirit.
Write down blessings now or wait until your afternoon quiet-time.
(If you wake earlier than your family you can do this before they wake up. Sometimes daily quiet time is necessary first thing if your days are hectic and your family is noisy/high spirited.)
***It helps to balance yourself to begin the day with calm.
***Pray continually & feed your Spirit daily.
Read and reply to emails-set timer for 15-30 minutes!
Don’t sit or stand for too long, move around to keep the cirulation moving and to prevent varicose veins.
8:45am-Brush your teeth with natural toothpaste-no aluminum or fluoride if you are health conscious and floss your teeth.
***Studies have shown that flossing will prevent many health problems including heart disease.
Tidy and clean bathroom quickly so it will look presentable each time you or a family member goes in there.
If you keep a daily planner or calendar, look and see what today will bring.
Write down things to do as you think of them, don’t wait and forget.
Write down appointments immediately as well, on your calendar and in your daily planner on the appropriate day.
***Be charitable, love others regardless of their bad attitudes or actions.
9:00am-Empty washer if applicable, start another load of laundry.
9:15am-Hang out clothes or put in dryer.
Take time to breathe in the fresh air, admire the scenery, feed pets, (if they’ve been patient this long…LOL).
9:45am-Sit on the porch or stoop, or walk around outside for a few minutes in the fresh air and sunshine-if weather permits.
Admire the roses, if you have some. If not, admire the neighbor’s roses and plan a garden.
***Get outside for a daily dose of sunshine, even in cloudy weather we can get needed nutrients from the sun. 15 minutes minimum.
10:00am-Go inside with a fresh determination to make this day a wonderful one.
Open drapes/blinds/windows.
Turn on some cheerful music.
Empty dishwasher, load dishwasher again if needed.
10:30am-Scrub pots and pots, or let soak for awhile.
10:40am-Tidy up kitchen/dining area and wipe off countertops, stove, so the kitchen will look presentable. Start thawing meat in sink for supper if applicable.
11:00am-Check your emails, reminders, answering machine, read newspaper if you like to and if you didn’t do this while eating breakfast-*which is not recommended because it sometimes stresses/depresses us for the remainder of the day.
*** Think Positive! Be optimistic! Don’t let things drag you down before the days even begins.
***Don’t let people drag you down either. Be nice though!
Make any necessary phone calls.
Drink some water and/or other healthy beverage.
***Drink more water-Important if you add extra fiber to your diet!
11:30am-Do a quick pick-up in living areas.
Place in proper room/place.
Do a quick dusting with your feather duster.
11:45am-Strip and make up beds.
Tidy.
Dust, sweep or vacuum if needed.
12:15pm-Fix a simple, nutritious lunch.
*Sit down and relax.
*Write down your daily blessings.
*Take time to truly be grateful for even the simple things.
1:00pm-Start planning snacks for after school.
Lay out non-perishables for snack and supper on the counter for a visual reminder.
1:15pm-Work on sewing projects, crochet, crafts, etc. Set timer for 30 minutes.
Get up and stretch, do some bends, do some bounces on your rebounder and walk on the treadmill or exercycle for another 30 minutes.
2:15pm-Refresh your eyes and face with cool or warm water, refresh makeup and hair.
Check your planner/calendar, check off items that you have accomplished.
2:30pm-Read a bit on the computer or a favorite book after lunch.
Set your timer for 15-30 minutes so this won’t get out of hand.
3:00pm-Fix snacks.
Welcome children home.
Have talk-time with children.
Start supper, turn on your timer.
Go outside with them for a little while.
***Chances are they have been indoors all day long and they need exercise, playtime, fresh air and sunshine too.
4:00pm-Be cheerful! Negativity is contagious! And so is cheerfulness!
Come inside and let them work on homework or chores while you finish supper.
***Read:
every now and then to remind yourself of your husbands importance in your marriage and in the home.
***And also to remind yourself the importance of your own role and also in being a calm and loving wife and mother. Remind yourself that you are important and need daily quiet time as well as pampering for a healthy balance. With proper planning you can make this possible.
***Adjust to your own home situation as needed. Meaning, sometimes Dad loves it when the children come running to meet him! Don’t dare deprive him of that if this is what makes him happy. You judge, you’ll know whether it stresses him or lightens his heart. Also welcome him home with a loving manner yourself, so that he enjoys coming through the door - instead of wanting to go hide in the den with the remote or newspaper.
5:00 to 6:00pm-Enjoy sitting together as a family, quietly enjoying the food and having pleasant conversation.
After supper, let the children help clean off table, scrape leftovers, wipe table.
Let dishes soak while you tidy the kitchen/dining area. If children are small then use the time to get them settled down doing a favorite activity or play with Dad while you wash dishes or load the dishwasher and clean the kitchen.
6:00pm-If there is still daylight, go out together and have some outdoor time as a family. Sit on the back porch or front stoop while the kids play or play with them.
7:00pm-Get together as a family to view a favorite movie or read a good book or have family devotion time together…Make hot chocolate, popcorn or other snacks…then back to bed …as
Early to bed and early to rise
make a man healthy wealthy and wise ![]()
