Can't say I'm a big fan of Bollywood films but I was in Blockbuster recently and there was a single copy of Asoka which is unusual as they don't carry asian films normally. So I rented it, and while the film was pretty sucky as usual, I have to say that Shah Rukh is a top actor. The guy carries films by himself. The rest of the bollywood actors are a bunch of poseurs.

Why? what's the big deal? The guy can definitely act - doesn't mean the film's any good but give credit where it's due.
I've never seen an Aamir Khan film so in no position to comment on your choice.

Xtreme well the point is I just can't stand him. That's why. He plays a quite serious role at the start of the movie and suddenly after he falls in love with this "Raj Kumari" he changes into "Amma bacha".
I don't think that was part of the act in this movie.
I'll advice you to watch Amir Khan's movies. Especially DIL Chatha Hai.
I'm sure you'll like his performance.

Agreed SRK can never come close to the class of Amir. The variety of roles that Amir can play is impossible for SRK.
Movies from QSQT to DCH is great example of Amirs class.
But My personal Choice would be AMITABH teh GReat!!!!
If you wana see Amitabh at his best then watch Deewar,Trishul,Sholay,Abhiman,Anand,Mili,Namak Halal,Chupke Chupke,Zanjeer,Muqaddar ka Sikander,Shraabi,Agnipath etc etc ... !!!!

Manoj Bajpai??? he's a good actor, but he can't be classified as a hero.

I don't think there is 'one' actor who is the greatest, but a few are commendable. Namely, Amitabh, Nana Patekar, Aamir Khan, and Shah Rukh. Shah Rukh can act well, he just needs to break out of the usual routine.
Actresses, Shabana Aazmi, Kajol, Tabbu, Madhuri, Jaya Bachan, and Rekha in the old days.
