well theres a huge difference in staying away from sumthing and not getting to do sumthing. For me where i have been living ,lets say drinking,i dont drink and never have tasted beer because i never get to.Its not available to me and on the other hand thing will be different if its in my reach and still i dont drink. So i think those who stay aways from evils even when its going around them are better Muslims :halo:
I would not say if one is better than other because it really depends on the Iman one has. if one want to do unislamic acts, he/she can still find ways to do it...
However, I agree that it really is a litmus test between the strongness of Imaan among people if the environment is easily evil-oriented. I have seen 'baRay baRay maulvi' changing into big shot atheist because they were exposed to the evil works more easily.. however, those who maintained their Islam and Iman in such situations turned out to be much more dedicated towards their religion ... just because one is not introduced in such an environment will not guarantee that he is either weak or strong muslim... Only Allah knows what's in the hearts.
i have seen ppl doing things that they r not supposed to do in a society where u cant find alcohol so i dont think it can be the platform to judge who is better
the test is every where and in all part of our lives
i know a lady who is basically a scholar and every1 prolly thinks that shes better in faith than them but she got divorced and didnt complete the iddat and got married again
so u cant judge sum1 on the basis of who he is or not at all
and prolly we dont live in society where we cant find alcohol but i think we commit other sins that r equally bad
so i dont think availability of sumthing is a test or can be used as a test
Who is a better muslim? Only Allah can truly say. However, we as humans sometimes jump and make judgements. We can however strive toward improving ourselves toward the path we know to be sirat-al-mustaqeem, the best we can, with a conscious effort, and pray that Allah does judge us with mercy when the time comes.
someone who has all the means of sinning and fears Allah and keeps away is definitely better than someone who did not sin just because he never had the chance....

how? may be other is as strong in iman as the first one.. just because he did not have a chance, does not mean his iman might be at a lower level or does it?

AQ we all know y exams r important .without going through one we wont be able to find out how good we are in anything.
and when a muslim is test by Allah swt and he stays firm , he proves himself to be good.jab u have a sin going on around u and still u make decision of being strong for not adopting it ,that is also a type of test. And the one who hasnt been tested yet ,how wud he know how strong he is in his iman.what if when it comes to him ,to looses his path

Sometimes you have to judge because God gave us the option to. You can't say, "Mr Bob killed 40 people but he isn't a bad guy." Just because we're not suppose to judge. I say you judge cause the moment you stop judging you're going to screw yourself over. A muslim that isn't drinking and one that is can be judged by you. One is obviously doing evil while the other isn't as long as you're not acting like God, but you can definetly say one is a better muslim then the other based on the incident occuring at that moment in time.
Iāve always said it: someone who can stay dedicated to theiir faith while living in the US/west is still better and stronger than someone who āfollowsā their faith whlie living in Pak/āislamicā country.
my first reply was on topic, but why should we open our mind a little⦠thats asking way too much
the thread did not need splitting as i told you in reply to your pm and i hope that youāll show the same standard of moderation when it comes to every other thread⦠iāll make sure to remind you when people are discussing completely off topic material
