What are your thoughts about getting whooping cough vaccine during pregnancy and did you get it done while you were pregnant?
I have heard they have started giving it to pregnant women in the US so please share your thoughts.
What about pregnant ladies in the UK? Any expecting lady who’s getting it done or in the future??? There are conflicting reviews on this vaccine on different websites so please share your experience so that I can help someone who’s stuck in deciding whether to opt for it or not?
Here it’s usually given as TDaP (Tetanus, Diptheria, Pertussis) Ibelieve and yes I had it during my pregnancy in the US.. thats the only protection your newborn baby gets for 12 months.Pertussis (Whooping cough) can be very serious leading to pneumonia or even death.. why take risks?
I was offered flu jab and whooping cough one, I declined the flu jab because to be honest I was quite advanced in my pregnancy by then and we were out of cold season and it has actually given me cold itself in the past so didnt fancy that but I did have the whooping cough one, I didnt have any side effects from it myself and I guess its better to be safe than sorry.
i also took the whooping cough vaccine… i was hesitant but alhumdulilah all is well.. i even took the flu jab and mashallah my daughter is nearly 5 months now
