Whole Cardamom v/s powdered cardamom

Cardamom is a very important spice in most desi households … how and in what form do you use it in your kitchen?

I am assuming this is about green cardamom..I use whole most of the times.Only when I am making some desserts like halwa or kheer etc (which is actually a rare event) I coarsely crush the seeds and use those.

It depends on what the recipe calls for.

believe me. it was painful to take the $6 teeny tiny bag of elaichi and put them through the grinder but…majboori :hinna:

yup i meant green cardamom ... I think in most homes its used as seeds ...

I normally use the powder form for instant tea ...or to decorate the dessert ... but normally in the cooking process its the seeds

I only buy whole, and crush with a back of a spoon if i need it in powder form
