whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

Tere Bin Jiya Na Jaye is already in the theatres. From what I gathered on the net, Koi Tujsa Kahhan and the Mubasher Lucman movie release on the same day on June 12…now aren’t these 3 movies going to cut into each other’s business? They toil over these films for years but the release strategy seems to be screwed up big time!

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

Is Pehla Pehla Pyar the Lucman one?

Koi Tujsa Kahan - is that the one by Ajab GUl?

I haven’t seen ANY PROMOTION of these movies on GEO or ARY

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

Pak films suck when it comes to promotion. A couple of billboards here and there, and promos in the cinemas [only] a week or so before the release is the best that happens. But then there are a few exceptions here and there…

Nope – its been directed by Reema [and that is highly doubtable – I bet she paid someone to do it! I can’t believe someone as hopeless as her can direct a flick]. She’s been boasting everywhere that its the first Pepsi sponsored film – some kind of an honor in that part of the world, I guess

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

Hopefully these movies do good business. Pak cinema needs some big hits to get back to life.

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

 These film things really matter for you guyssssssssss
and why are you against reema , she is an enthusiatic woman , you guys just cant accept any good change :snooty: , i think, she doesnt want to repeat what she has done herself or what her directors forced her to do.

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

An interesting article is up on jang regarding Reema's new movie. She claims that the plot is about what happens in the initial period right after a marriage - the story is about a newly wed couple's wife.

I havent seen too many desi movies in a long time. She claims most desi movies don't touch on this. But there have been Indian movies based upon newly wed life, no?

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

^^ She probably means it’s going to have a lot of that saas-bahu crap

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

^ oh...I thought she was talking about the stage of "ek doosray ke feelings ko samajhna". Er well that's how they say it in dramas.

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

reemas film has mo rana banana saab, so im not interested.

and promotion for PPP has been very aggresive so far,

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

Hello everyone,

I was introduced to this page by a cyber friend sometime back and now I decided to join in and post my observations. First I would like to thank each one of you for your interest in the Pakistani films. Additionally, unlike popular belief we do plan and advertise though I agree most do not as it should be. But then most films are not that budget heavy and every penny they spend on advertising on films is money wasted in their opinion. However our publicity started a few weeks ago and now we are hitting the full scale in the last three weeks prior to release. The film to watch out for is Pehla Pehla pyar and its not because I am a part of it but simply since we all believe it to be a good team effort. I have to admit I had the best possible team on it and they deserve all credit. If there are any shortcomings then you can only blame me. All I can promise you is that this film is going to surprise you all with its subject, storyline, songs, sequences, locations, dresses, make ups, props and above all very absorbing performances by the cast and the team behind the scenes. Please do help us and help us advertise this film on all available areas, let oyur friends and families back home know that this film is about to come out and that they should get the copy of its music and send it to you as well as come to theatres and watch the film. After all when we can take the blame for making a bad film the audience must know they need to support us and that we cant make good quality films unless we are supported ecnomically and financially. I am very pleased to tell you that we have donated all profits of the film to an NGO dedicated to helpt he acid and kerosene burns victims (Women only) in Pakistan and that we are in the process of developing the first ever burns rehabilitation centre for such unfortunate women. Every way that you support us will go to help these thousands of unfortunate and helpless women who have no one to turn to in this hour of need and their own families have shun them out in most cases. In case you are wondering then we have over 15000 reported cases of intentional acid burns in the last ten years or so. Each year there is an increase of 500 women to the list. One operation takes about Rs 400,000/ and roughly a normal patient has to undergo about 40 operations or surgeries over a period of five years or so and even then they may never recover fully.

I urge you to join the bandwagon and help us close our organisation by bringing and end to this terrible crime against humanity. Our film is dedicated to all those helpless women out there and we will Inshallah make a difference to their lives and give them a reason to smile again. It is a tall order but we are determined and committed to the cause. So whilst you enjoy the music and the film as it is honestly a very good one please sit back for a moment and think about the faceless women in thousands out there waiting for our support.

lets join hands and tell the world that we will not tolerate such atrocities.

With best wishes and regards

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

how much do you think you spent on the film as a whole?

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

Hope they all do real well and crush the bolly industry (kidding)...

Re: whoa! 3 long awaited films within a week?

Well the entire project so far is worth about RS 40 million or a little more than that. Sairah no need to crush anyone. As long as you can do what you feel is right you shall be able to drive home a point. Film making is all about story telling. Unlike what some people think it is about special effects or other aspects, it is not. The director uses all available tools to narrate a story. Be it the actors, cameras, editing table whatever. If the story is good then all good will follow. Unfortunately our problem in Pakistan has been that we have lost track of good scripts and screen plays. We have tried to copy others at somethings they are good at and not us. This has made us forget our own strengths in the process. If a point is to be made then it is to ourselves that we have to learn to live and let live if we are to prosper and that our worst enemies could know a thing or two more than us. I can tell you with a conviction that our literature has depth not many in the world do so if we can bring some education in our show business we will rise very quickly above any other and make an impression that is lasting and good.
