Candidate A : Young but quite successful and known highly in the business circle

Or

Candidate B: Highly experienced with more then two decades of experience of dealing in similar business but works with old school mind set.

i would hire the guy with several years of experience because he obviously knows how to get things done and is a proven achiever.

why would i take a risk with a 'Young N less experienced' guy? if i want to give them a chance, i would rather hire him for lesser projects.

Would hire the young professional, if the old guy was so good he would'nt have been looking for the position.

CB- depends on what the personality of the company is and reasons they are available.

Bring a driven creative person to a red tape laden old school company and no one will be happy, similarly putting guy 2 in a very fluid, modern, entrepreneurial company would mean he may not fit well.

What kind of candidate would you choose then , Eastern?

@X2 , I agree, The culture of the company can have a big impact on the candidate , irrespective of how much experience they have.
@KKF , I agree to what you said in many cases , they have always chosen experience over achievement to reduce the risk . There is no shortcut to experience and it can only come with time. For important projects its important the leading individual has gone through success and failure to be able to deal with the risk element and try and bring out the best .

Need more information about the candidates. What does well know mean for A. Is B not well known? What is the track record for a and b. What have they accomplished. What is the task. And as X2 said what is the company culture.

Technical analysis r well known and famous. But Fundamental analysis take home the upuma.
