Well I would translate that as the parents did good deeds by sacrificing, guiding and educating their son...which to me in itself would score good points in their favour...therefore, still pointing to one's deeds.
Let me ask you, what if parents did not help or look after their son....and he still does duas or whatever after their death...would they get higher marks in God's eyes for this?
Basically I think the son doing duas after the parents death is only placating his own grief.
I agree, we are talking about the same thing but looking at it from different perspectives which might seem different, but they are actually not.
Well, we cant say parents never looked after the child, once he was born from them, their sacrifices were involved in his birth, which can never be payed back even if the child serves them & prays for them throughout his life.
Son's dua for parents from heart is effective not only for the son himself but also for the parents. I don't know how to explain it right now, but may be I am able to elaborate it clearly sometime laterz, when I have more time and am less stressd..
Sometime when people perform their farz hajj they usually do hajj-al-badl for the people who have died and was not able to perform hajj. (well i don't know exactly about hajj al badal but I have heard about it)
Take from this and be kind to animals too. You can be kind to another person and be there for them in time of need but its human nature to sever relationships and move on. If there is a being that will never forget you for sure thats animals. So be kind to them and please do not kill them unnecessarily, like killing a bug "just because".
I meant that if you read quran and then make a duaa that all my reading quran's sawaab goes to that person. Sorry if you misunderstood me.
Well, you see we read Quran for our own benefit, but if we only make this "Niyyah" and pray to Allah to give the sawab of this recitation to all the muslims who died specially to our parents and beloved ones, Allah (swt) accepts our sincere prayers for them. IT is similar to the fact that when you light alot of candles with the fire of one candle, it doesn't decrease the fire of that first candle and also alot of other candles gets fire from it.
i dont mean to be rude... i'm asking bcoz i want to learn.... is it proven from the Quran & Sunnah, or the 4 Imams that we can TRANSFER the sawab from reading the quran to our beloved deceased ones? this is similar to quran khaanis, no? i mean did the Prophet SAW read the quran and ask for the sawab from it to be transferred to Hazrat Khadija ?
what i had heard is this: “When the son of Adam dies, his deeds come to an end apart from three: sadaqah jaariyah (ongoing charity); beneficial knowledge; or a righteous son who will make du’aa’ for him.” (Saheeh Muslim, 1631)
Once again, i'm not targetting your practices, i just want to understand why they r done and if it is something that is a part of the Quran and Sunnah...
