March 9 - Chief Justice made non-fucnctional.
June 9 - Govt carrying on business as usual with presenting budget.
Who would have thought as we enter the 4th month of this drama, that Musharraf would still be there. Well I and many said so. :)
Re: Who would have thought...? II
Zaffarullah Jamali woulda thunk the same thoughts.

yes really its hard to kick dictators, they die but don't easily leave the country
they think its better to distroy country then leaving the seat

Nobody will distroy anything. :)
Re: Who would have thought...? II
did Ayub or Yahya destroy anything. Of course not.
Re: Who would have thought...? II
we arrive in the 50s and why Gen Ayub Khan meddled in. He was made a cabinet minister by the civilian democratic leaders and involved him in a lot of things.
Factually incorrect Haris, Governor General GM and Maj (retired) Iskandier Mirza may have been semi civilians but they were not democrats and not politicians. They were establishment people

It's the destroy versus steal approach of many Pakistanis..killing ones citizens is acceptable, and eventually forgivable..being perceived as corrupt is not..(unless you are a supporter of those who kill)
Re: Who would have thought...? II
It took 9 months to get rid of Ayub once the movement started against him and a few months to get rid of Zia after he staged the ojhri camp drama. I am sure mush will go much earlier.
Re: Who would have thought…? II
I think Musharraf is a really good president but his time is coming to an end ![]()

But Zakk, werent Ghulam and Iskander both civilians and involved in political affairs of the country as democratically or undemocratically as they were. Plus they were part of an establishment that was supposedly accepted as democratic as per whatever democracy we had known at the time.
Also, while talking of him, I wanted to confirm abt Iskander Mirza's title of Maj Gen. He was bestowed the honorary rank right? becaue i dont thik he was a military Gen? Im not sure, do pls confirm Zakk.
Re: Who would have thought…? II
A few months ago they said Mushraraf would be gone by this time. He is still very much here, and the likes of BB and probably other sections of the opposition parties are negotiating with him to get a share of power. He ain’t going anywhere it seems.
