mo bro, i've watched modern cricket. I am aware of what is happening. may be u remember Pak won against Aust. few months back. If pakistan can beat em one time, they can do it once again... anyways, it is not impossible for Pak to win match against SA/Aust. I am just being hopefull.

P.S our batsmen were never over rated, they are always labelled as brittle. Plus the stars you mentioned as old are constantly performing since a while and you cannot deny this. Though i agree that SA, Aust are far more disciplined. But the beauty of pakistan team is its unpredictability. Only a bit of discipline is reqd and a lot of positivity in attitude and we will do well insha’allah

i just get the feeling that south africa is going to crack under the pressure...do you remember australia in '92, they were hot favorites and look what happened...if that happens, it will open the door for west indies.
also, this world cup has too many minnows, half of the matches involve pathetic teams which means half the world cup will be unwatchable.
i stick to my prediction: Australia - Sri Lanka in the Final.
I would go with Australia - they are in better shape than anyone else.
As for Pakistan I doubt they would even qualify for semi-final. But you'll never know cricket is a game of chance so one could only hope for....
Australia and South Africa are the most consistent teams but I voted Pakistan anyway. I refuse to back anybody else as a matter of principle and I hope that the big occasion brings the best out of us.

sri lanka are in an easier group, it will give their team pretty of time to adjust to the settings. once the super six starts look out, they can score runs and murali is a matchwinner. they have no other bowlers though.
and i still think south africa will struggle.
still, no perfect teams. india's bowling is inept, australia has no proven all-rounders, south africa has too much pressure, pakistan's batting can't chase, windies, nz and england are all less talented. should be interesting.
