I’m thinking that Australia will once again win because they have awesome teamwork and every single person on the team is a great bowler or batsman. They don’t depend on just one player to carry the team:(.
I would love to see sri lanka or south africa win this year since they look quite promising. Anybody but Australia:frusty2:. It’s getting a bit sickening seeing them win every time.

Australia will definitely make it so semis. They could possibly slip up in semi otherwise they will win it big in final.

12 pre semi final matches are left and semi finalist would be decided on or before 21st April, when the last match would be played between WI and Eng.
Till now, 2 teams have almost qualified and 1 other has almost confirmed chance to get to semi final. (There is possibility that even with 8 points; qualifier would be decided on run rate).
NZ (8 points) have almost qualified. They have 3 more matches to play, against Aus, SA, and SL.
Aus (8 points) have almost qualified. They have 3 more matches to play, against Ire, NZ, and SL.
To almost qualify:
SL (6 points) needs 1 win from remaining 3 matches against Ire, NZ, and Aus.
Teams that have chances to qualify:
SA (4 points) needs 2 wins from remaining 3 matches against NZ, Eng, and WI.
Eng (2 points) needs 3 wins from remaining 3 matches against BD, SA, and WI
WI (2 points) needs 3 wins from remaining 3 matches against BD, Eng, and SA.
BD (2 points) needs 3 wins from remaining 3 matches against Ire, Eng, and WI.
At present, assumption is that NZ, SL and Aus are certain to qualify, whereas place of 4th semi finalist is open. Ireland with 4 lost matches has no chance to qualify.
Nevertheless, expectation is that, SA may win 2 of their 3 remaining matches and might qualify, but there is no certainty as all their remaining opponents on their day are capable of defeating SA.
It is still not clear who would play who in Semi final. My prediction is still same, that one of the two, SL or Aus would win the world cup (most likely).
Today match (SA Vs WI) could eliminate WI.
Tomorrow match (Eng Vs BD) would eliminate either Eng or BD.
I still believe that most likely SL will win the world cup. Australian batting seems stronger then SL though SL has more penetrative bowling strength.

I am rooting for New Zealand. The team deserves it. They've played well and have never won a world cup before. This is their best chance since '92 and I hope they win.

Three remaining matches NZ have to play before semi final are three most difficult matches. They are against Aus, SL, and SA.
Let see how they do in these three matches. I would be surprised if they even win one of those 3 remaining matches :D

I have said that before and will insist again, the most deserving ODI unit of all is New Zealand. Its a long due title for this thrilling side. In last 30 years their style has not changed a centimeter, and Oh boy! the surprises and 'never give up' attitude they show is remarkable. They put the best show for us, sheer entertainment.

NewZeland: They may have the will but I doubt they have the material.
Just imagine their best batsman Fleming has test average below 40 and ODI average below 33. Most of their other batsmen have overall record worse then Fleming. That type of material might make some upsets hear and there, but very difficult to win the world cup.
Though, all is possible as one can see that on their day, even BD can beat SA. I would consider NZ very lucky if they win the world cup. In that sense, who knows? Even BD has chance of winning the world cup. :)
On the other hand, I believe that with their overall strength, NZ is probably the fourth strongest team amongst top six playing for the cup. They would need two good days and their opponents two bad days for NZ to win world cup 2007.
I believe that a good batsman should have test average of over 40 along with ODI average of around 35. Excellent batsmen would have test average of over 50 and ODI average of over 40. Higher the better.
Apart of Bond, NZ do not have any good strike bowler. Though Bond is good, I believe that most damaging bowlers in this world cup are Malinga, McGrath, and Muralitharan.

NZ won against SA. I am surprised. To me, NZ victory was really a surprise victory. Now what? Seems that who ever were thinking that NZ has good chance to win world cup, may not be wrong after all, who knows? :) All caps off to NZ.
This match gave a chance to England too. Now England only needs to beat SA and would have chance to qualify on run rate, regardless of they lose to WI. If England wins against SA and WI both, they qualify for 4th place.
SL win against NZ paid off, as now it is very unlikely that SL and Aus would meet in semi final.
Most likely semi final could be:
SL Vs NZ (or 4th place)
And
Aus Vs NZ (or 4th place)
Chances are that Aus and SL, who ever wins against each other would top the table.
NZ will take 2nd position if they beat Aus or if SL beats Aus. Else, NZ would take 3rd place.
Here how table would look like, depending on next few matches.
Possibility one:
SL beat Ireland, loses to Aus.
NZ beat Aus.
Aus 12 points, NZ 12 points, SL 10 points.
Aus (1st place), NZ (2nd place), SL (3rd place)
Possibility two:
SL beat Ireland, loses to Aus.
NZ lose to Aus.
Aus 14 points, NZ 10 points, SL 10 points.
Aus (1st place), SL (2nd place), NZ (3rd place)
(Because SL would have higher run rate than NZ)
Possibility three:
SL beat Ireland, beat Aus.
NZ beat Aus.
Aus 10 points, NZ 12 points, SL 12 points.
SL (1st place), NZ (2nd place), Aus (3rd place)
(Because SL would have higher run rate then NZ)
Possibility four:
SL beat Ireland, beat Aus.
NZ lose to Aus.
Aus 12 points, NZ 10 points, SL 12 points.
SL (1st place), Aus (2nd place), NZ (3rd place)
Or:
Aus (1st place), SL (2nd place), NZ (3rd place)
Depending on how SL plays with Ireland, most likely if SL and Aus will have equal points (that is possible if SL beats Aus and Ireland), then SL will have higher run rate then Aus, thus SL taking 1st position. If SL points equals NZ, (both SL and NZ beats Aus) then also SL will take 1st position on run rate.
Possibility five (very unlikely)
If SL loses to Ireland and Aus both, then, regardless of NZ Vs Aus result:
Aus (1st place), NZ (2nd place), SL (3rd place)
Thus, it is certain that either Aus or SL would take 1st place. NZ may take 2nd or 3rd place in the table.
Thus, one thing is now certain, that semi final won’t be between Aus and SL. They would only meet with each other in final (if they both win their semi final).
Even though they lost to SA and had close match with Eng, looking at their performances over last one year, I still believe that with bowling strength strong and full of variety and batting strength going deep down in order, SL is most likely team with overall strength to win the world cup.

I hate to say that but SL looks more equipped to win this worldcup. They are playing awsome cricket. They have best bowling lineup for the condition and middle which used to look inexperienced is really delivering. Silva is good talent and along with Dilshan he is able to do good in Middle order. They always had good top order.
But Frankly, due to those 2 chuckers I dont want them to win. I wish NZL won it. They are such a underhyped team. NZL team is good example of a 'TEAM' which delivers all the time without any big stars.

As for the second guy, I can only assume you mean Malinga because that is what an ignorant fool would think. He has a perfectly legitimate action. Even people who say Murali chuck know his action is legal.
