India qualified for the world cup in 1950, however Fifa rules stated that players have to wear boots…most of the team refused to abide by the rule, and hence they were disqualified without even playing a single match :hehe:

PS the current national soccer team for india is ranked #117...pakistan's team is ranked # 155, which apparently is a big jump of 22 places in the last yr alone :D

*India will qualify first, and then the following is what will happen:

It is just before India vs Brazil at the 2010 World Cup Group game.

Ronaldino goes into the Brazilian changing room to find all his team-mates looking a bit glum.
“What’s up?” he asks.
“Well, we’re having trouble getting motivated for this game. We know it’s important but it’s only India and we can’t be bothered”.
Ronaldino looks at them and says “Well, I reckon I can beat these by myself, you lads go down the pub.”
So Ronaldino goes out to play India by himself and the rest of the Brazilian team go off for a few jars.
After a few pints they wonder how the game is going, so they get the landlord to put the teletext on. A big cheer goes up as the screen reads “Brazil 1 - India 0 (Ronaldino 10 minutes)”. He is beating India all by himself!
Anyway, a few more pints later and the game is forgotten until someone remembers “It must be full time now, let’s see how he got on”. They put the teletext on. “Result from the Stadium “Brazil 1 (Ronaldino 10 minutes) – India 1 (Arvind 89 minutes)”.
They can’t believe it, he has single handedly got a draw against India!
They rush back to the Stadium to congratulate Ronaldino. They find him in the dressing room, still in his gear, sat with his head in his hands. He refuses to look at them. “I’ve let you down, I’ve let you down.”
“Don’t be daft, you got a draw against India, all by yourself. And they only scored at the very, very end!”
“No, No, I have, I’ve let you down... I got sent off with a red card after 12 minutes”

Its time the Pakistanis started taking other sports seriously especially football as it is truly a international sport unlike cricket.

There are a few that Paki’s are concentrating on, the fact that funding is not there don’t mean they are not taking it serioulsy. Even with limited fundings they are world ranked in more than just cricket. As per capita, I think they are doing darn good compared to India and China in terms of acheivement.
