a great article by one of the most prominent investigative journalists Rauf Kalssara
yes politicians have done my crimes but what about army generals? or shd we forget everything against them on the name of national pride and national interest…we salute our army for sacrificing lives in wars but when some of its generals are involved in such a mega level of corruption, cant we ask questions?
this is such a bold and courageous article by rauf. he is naming those generals with their crimes which have been proved in the courts. why cant army taken action against those corrupt generals?
Another very big problem is Ghost moneyThis started during Afghan war , I started this this thread that some one sitting in a safe place abroad will do something but looks they all are cow worshiper . Seymour Hersh clearly told about this
No one can ask this question to army. They make our politicians corrupt and infighting so that they can be a holy cow all the time and our people will always consider them as our saviours. Thye are being raised on the hard earned money by the people of pakistan.
Do you feel that salary of a captain , colonel and brigadier matches with their life style. my close friend reach to colonel , and he hardly affords a cultus ! while I see others in his circle having 2 ,3 cars ??? Who wil ask these questions to our army to brass. Sure the jawans are the ones whom we are proud off but what about the top ones ???
Isn’t it the same? We all know that politicians, bureaucrats, landlords, businessmen and military top brass is involved in (oftehn “legalized”) corruption.
Can we name any influential person from any of the above being actually convicted and punished for corruption?
The sad fact is that the military is responsible for the political nonsense we see today.
None of the martial law eras in the past have even tried to deal with the corrupt politicians, instead the army have (gladly) kept the corrupt government - martial law- corrupt government - martial law sequence going. Musharraf had the chance to rid us of these PPP, PMLN rascals but he kept the age old sequence going.
For the first time, perhaps ever, we have an army chief who is a good, honest man. I can’t stand the current government - completely useless, traitors - but General Raheel has done the right thing by not imposing martial law and instead is trying to nail some politicians. I’m certain Insha’Allah he will rid of us of a lot of vermin before his term his up.
Than all of them to be considered as the culprit to bring our beloved country to this level. Why Army is considered as a holy cow ?? PPL forget I believe the navy head who earned 9 Bi and is free after paying 1 Bi .
For me all are same and to be sonsidered same. This khannas in army top brass and their supporters that they are the saviour need to be eliminated. They shud come back to ground and look for their mstakes in the past and learn. Mistakes from politicians are mostly costing us miilions or billions . Mistakes from Army ( making jihadis starting from Bangladesh , kashmir and them afganistan ) costing us our country.
Exactly. They do the same job that every other Army does in the world - but they think it gives them the right to loot and kill throughout Pakistan’s history.
If Pakistan Army was professional, the country would be in a much better state.
Lets hope the same as he is from the family of Major Shabbir sharif ( nishan-e-haider )
BTW the most capable till now was Ayub khan. And he had his ambitions to be ruler of pakistan. AS much they are capable , as long they rule the country because they feel others are too inferior to handle this problem ridden country and i m the only wise mind .
Brigadier = BPS 20 ( ~ 83 k ) consider increaments to make it 130 k
Colonel = BPS - 19 ( ~ 72 k ) consider increaments to make it 105k
Major = BPS 18 ( ~ 49 k ) consider increaments to make it 75 k
Captain = BPS 17 ( ~ 40 k ) consider increaments to make it 60 k
Do you feel the salary level and the living style matches for many ??
That’s the point most people forget to make. Problem is not Army generals or politicians. In 3rd world countries like Pak, it is the POWERFUL people who can get away with anything and no one can deny Army generals are one of the most powerful and hence they can get away with a lot more.
This is where India has progressed and we need to learn from them.
