This just came to my mind that Pakistan would be touring NZ soon. So with Butt gone(looks like forever), Afridi’s self imposed retirement from test cricket, what other options we have for our Test team captain.
We have already seen how horrible Yousuf is when it comes to commanding. Shoaib Malik should not be included in the team let alone Captain. Akmal brothers are BIG NO NO, Misbah is a history.
I have a feeling that PCB will "request" shahid afridi to come out of retirement once more and Afridi will do that "mulk-o-qoom" ki khatir.
For me its time to bring some one really tested and known. that would be Younis Khan, but we also need to strenghthen our upper and middle order. Why not bring Asim Kamal back to the team. He used to be a pretty decent bat.
If Butt recieves an ICC ban then Pakistan will be needing a test captain sooner than the NZ tour since they will be playing a test series next month in UAE against South Africa .
I think test captinacy will go back to Yousuf or may be Younis if a miracle would happen and he is selected.
There is not other choice right now except Younis Khan. And we know that the present management hates YK. So its indespensible that the new management comes which get YK agreed on continuing his career which is good for him as well as there is a lot of Cricket left in him.

Thanks for the pointing that out Fkhan2. Indeed we need a resolution much sooner. Anyways when will ICC officially charge Kamran Akmal as well :D
Pakistan has had 16 test captains and 18 ODI captains since Imran retired (1992)
Australia on the otherhand has had four test captains since then - Border, Taylor, Steve Waugh, Ponting and Gilchrist (captained Australia in India in Ponting’s absence)! Border was already captain when Imran retired
