I think most of our institutions have some level of corruptions in them. Some are more corrupt than others. Politicians & generals are equally corrupt, but politicians are vilified more than generals b/c its unpatriotic to criticize members of armed forces+ they have guns. Police is very corrupt & so is judiciary...although I think higher judiciary is less corrupt than lower judicial system.
Leadership comes from the top and we have proven quite actively our leaders are the most corrupt of them all. Linking that with the average person not having enough money to survive, it is a major issue. What is he going to do to survive if not ask for bribes considering everybody is doing it now.
That is chicken or egg first question. Hadith suggests that we get leadership as we are, if leaders are corrupt then it means nation is corrupt. If we can vote a party led by likes of Zardari back to power, it means something right?
Want to clean up our corruption issue, hang every *ing **** in our parliament right now. Simply state corruption is a sin (as a Hadis of our Prophet openly states) and make it a capital punishment offence.
I wish I could say "yes lets hang/punish/kill them" but then we'd become equal of Taliban in "secular" dressing. Either we form a strong "civil pressure group" in all cities or resort to "lynching" of corrupt whether they are at top or root level.
