I do, only because i'm a very hands on individual and enjoy these DIY tasks and getting my hands dirty.

We do DIY together. That’s what i make HIM think. I’m actually controlling everything logistically and just getting him to do the hard manual work. In my defence, i have to do it like that, because if i leave him to his own devices, the finished item will be done in record time, yes, but there will be screws, washers and big pieces left over…cos apparently they’re “spare”.

To all the men out there: just follow the damn instructions dude. You won’t be any less of a man if you do.

as long as I can do it myself Im not waiting around for anyone,because it takes a hundred not nows,later,tomorrows before it can be done and when I have an idea or want something done it means now.

my husband does all the manly things, neither does he ask, he asked me to help once, and i ended up breaking half the stuff and nearly knocking his eyeballs out with the hammer.

I own the damn belt in the house and nobody wears it but me. I fix the light bulbs. The broken drawers, the computer, the phones etc.

I'm the handyman around here too. I don't have a belt, but a box
Recent tasks: Installed a chandelier, a ceiling fan, changed some switches, generator maintenance

Okay, so one of my greatest pet peeves - if I need to get anything done around the home, I either do it myself or have to hire out for a contractor or handyman. They guys in my family are all for hiring someone rather than spending the time and effort themselves.

In the interest of saving money - I end up doing the little jobs. Take for example, last year, I bought an elliptical - who assembled the sucker - ME. We got a new light fixture - who installed it - ME. We had a plumbing problem - who had to get out the snake and clear the drain - ME. I wanted to rearrange furniture - who moved the heavy pieces - who else but ME - argh!! Any time anything needs to be assembled (chairs, bookcases, etc.) - I get called upon.

So ladies and gents - who wears the tool belt in your home? And are you possessive about your tool belt or are you willing to share?

I can totally relate…excuse me I don’t mind equal rights and all that but some things a man should do !

Now, I wish I was never enthusiastic about putting together shelves, wardrobes etc when I was younger :hinna:
