who was the prophet sent for jins?

i forgot, ..

Re: who was the prophet sent for jins?

I know of only two;

  1. Hazrat Suleman (AS)
  2. Hazrat Muhammad (SAW)

May be someone can share/add more on it.

Re: who was the prophet sent for jins?

every nation had a prophet sent to them from within their own nation....

jinns wud most probably had prophets from amongst the jinn....

Sulaiman (as) was not preaching to the jinns or anything....
the jinns were put under his command just like many other creatures were....

Re: who was the prophet sent for jins?

agreed

Re: who was the prophet sent for jins?

^^ It is been an understanding amongst scholars that all the prophets are from Humans.

There are momin/muslim jinns (I think Quran gave a reference to that), which indicates that Jinns follow human prophets

tafseer of Sura Jinn also proves that Jinns need guidance from humans.

Re: who was the prophet sent for jins?

Prophet Muhammad was sent for Aa'lameen (including Jinn)

Re: who was the prophet sent for jins?

  • infact, quran talks about messengers being selected amongs humans and angels (Jibrail (AS) as a messenger of GOd to the prophets)

  • if you read in Quran (perhaps it is surah jinn, check it.. i can't recall) a conversation of Jinns with their people is recorded as saying they heard something which is similar to what was given to Mosa (AS)... Now, did Jinns accepted Mosa (AS) as their prophet as well?

Re: who was the prophet sent for jins?

^ :)

And We have not sent before you but men from (among) the people of the towns, to whom We sent revelations
[12: 109]

And We did not send before you any but men to whom We sent revelation-- so ask the followers of the Reminder if you do not know
[16: 43]

And We did not send before you any but men to whom We sent revelation, so ask the followers of the reminder if you do not. And We did not make them bodies not eating the food, and they were not to abide (forever).
[21: 7-8]

Re: who was the prophet sent for jins?

^ the word used here is "rijaaal" and this word "rijaal" has been used to indicate the "men" for both the humans and the jinn (see verse 6 of surah Jinn)....

Re: who was the prophet sent for jins?

RJL was used in the slang sense for individuals... the same way in Urdu people use the word "bandaa" as in "do banday yahaan say wahaan ga'ay"... so translate Rijaal as: And there were INDIVIDUALS from the ins and the jinn who sought each others' company.
