I blame the West for current condition. The current clerical regime in Iran would not have come to power if Mosaddegh was not overthrown by America and Britain. And it is the West which supports other dictators and kings all over the Muslim world.

Agreed. The way to cripple Assad would be with sanctions, and to convince China and Russia to stop supporting him, which of course, would require the US to stop protecting Israel. Not likely, so this massacre will continue. This “red line” about chemical weapons, unfortunately, is more important to them so as to send a message to Iran and other countries that it is threshold that should not be crossed. The governments care nothing for the people, 100,000 of whom have already died.
