Bad moi… thats not what I should be saying. 
I think your point is a valid one. A lot of muslims belong to this school of thought. I am sure most of them do realize that if they keep believing that, then these people should not then say “oh jews have such a hold over US politics. Oh Indians have such a strong lobby… why can’t muslims have such strong lobby in US Congress/White House”. Well, obviously muslims have lousy lobbying in US Capitol, because we don’t want to be part of “any silly voting bloc”. If you are not a bloc, then you have no use. No one is going to court your vote. There is no time to listen to your issues, because you are not important or have enough numbers to make you interesting. You will always be just one person to whom generic tv ads can be thrown. If an immigration officer strip searches you at JFK and makes you wait for 6 hours while he does a background check on you, all because you are brown muslim and your dad was originally from Pakistan, then its just your frikkin’ problem. No candidate cares for your problem, because you are just one man. You can keep issues important to yourself to yourself. No one cares.
Having said that, I do think that in these '2008 elections, having any kind of muslim bloc vote is not going to happen. Situation is too fluid and neither candidates offers any good deal. Obama will likely squeak through more muslim votes, because of his perceived views on domestic civil rights; and likely he won’t go around bombing all over the world (except Pakistan 
). We’ll see.
