Who should (and shouldn't ) go to India with Pakistani Team??

Re: Who should (and shouldn’t ) go to India with Pakistani Team??

Excuse me sir, did you watch the current series? Aussie commentators kept saying that he is successful in Australia because he is quick through the air and has huge turning yet pacey leg breaks up his sleeves.

Re: Who should (and shouldn't ) go to India with Pakistani Team??

I would take this line up.

Openers: Salman Butt, Yasir Hameed with Taufeeq in reserves.

Middle order: Younis, Inzimam, Yousuf, Asim

All-Rounders: Razzaq, Afridi and Shoaib Malik (assuming he will be able to bowl after first march)

Bowlers: Shoaib, Sami, Irshad, Rana, Khalil, Kaneria, Arshad Khan

Wicket Keeper: Kamran Akmal

I really hope they follow the traditional approach of 6 + 4 + 1 but I think they will be tempted to use Afridi or Malik in the middle order in place of Asim Kamaal or Younis.

You dropped Rao?

Did you read my thread on 15 degrees ? MundaPakistani said that Shoaib Malik’s arm angle is around 22-23 degrees hence he won’t be bowling even after March 1 :bummer:

Re: Who should (and shouldn’t ) go to India with Pakistani Team??

If Shoaib Akhtar is in playing XI, they’ll have to go with one all rounder as Shoaib will bowl 4-5 overs after every 20-25 overs… someone will have to make up for his lack of fitness/stamina!

Oh I must have missed his post then.

Re: Who should (and shouldn’t ) go to India with Pakistani Team??

Sir jee, when the current pace attack (2Ss) has become flat and ordinary Shabbir, Gul and Rana are the three bowlers who are/were swinging ball intelligently. Gul had potential to reserve a permenant spot in the test team.

And we all know that Gul’s career is almost finished. Shabbir has chances for WI series or may be England series. Shabbir will come back and strike inshallah as his consistancy, stemina, height and mental strength is all a fast bowler can wish for. Rana and Shabbir are same in that catagory and will go a long way with Pak team inshallah.

Re: Who should (and shouldn't ) go to India with Pakistani Team??

I think following should be the playing 11.
Butt
Hameed
Malik
Inzamam
Yoyo
Afridi
Razaq/Shoaib
Kamran
Rana
Danish
Sami

India is going to prepare the turning tracks and its better to play two spinning all rounders and one full spinner.
Dependin on the wicket we can replace one of the quickies with Razaq. Our lower order batting has shown some class that includes, Rana and Afridi as well Kamran can bat. If we get good start from the top order then this combination can work.

Hameed is struggling, Taufeeq must have preference over him. But still Hameed should be a backup for Butt and Taufeeq.

Playing Malik, Afridi and Razzaq all in Test team :smack: I will play Asim for Malik. We need Asim type player to stop a collapse which we are becoming very famous. I will play Afridi for his bowling, as he will be a fulltime spinner along with Denish.

Re: Who should (and shouldn’t ) go to India with Pakistani Team??

Yasir Hameed scored two fifties in his last match against australia. He struggled (not really struggled but was careless) against aussies in onedayers. I think the side matches will determine who will partner Salman in first test on march 4th.

I will agree with you on all rounder part. We must not rely on All rounders in test cricket though Razzaq and Afridi both are in good form with both bat and ball. Either we play three regular bowlers with Razzaq and Malik/Afridi OR we play four regular bowlers (which I would like to see)

Re: Who should (and shouldn't ) go to India with Pakistani Team??

Put Shoaib back in tests and watch Razzaq's performance.... just a hint ;)

You’r excused! I standby my men :snooty::k:
“The fat lady has yet to sing” Aussie commentators are not a ‘measuring spoon’ of quality

If I were you, I would watch that “sleeve” closely , :hehe::k:
