I mean if we are going to gauge people harshly in one case, teh same level of scrutiny should be given to others. thats all I am doing.

I even like Imran, I am just troubled with him being palsy with nawaz & co recenytly, and now with MQm-haqiqi.

I will vote for Imran. But he gotta do some real work.

May he establish the right equilibrium between Judiciary, Parliment and President for check and balance.

May he bring back Altaf, Nawaz and BB. Hang Altaf in public (after fair trial ofcourse) and put N&B in jail for their loot-khasoot in 90s.

May he iron out our issues with India, Afghanistan and Iran. Make Pakistan a non-violent country, both internally and in terms of foreign policy. No panga with anyone. Cap ISI budget and power. Reduce Millitary to 100,000 man power only. Thats what we would be required if we don't mess with anyone.

This saved money from downsizing of the huge military (which would be 40% of our budge by the way) must be invested in education sector. Every district must have one or two big fully equipped universities. There should be big chunck of money allocated for next 10 years. Upto masters the education must be free and upto Int'l par. Its like a war-time situation for the nation. We should produce high quality engineers and professionals to fulfill the Int'l market.
It should be mandatory to educate EVERY child upto grade 12 atleast.

May we pass a constitution (purely based on 73' cons minus all bad ammendments), one thing that should be added is to shut the political door on GHQ forever. The men in uniform should be acting as military servent not the master of the poor nation. All army commercial projects should be open for public to take part in, if not on top managment.

May the plot/permit/VVIP culture be banned and monitored by an independent authority that should be transparent. All loopholes in the law for loans and insentives must be plugged in. Tighten the grip on bribery, systemetic and open corruption.

Let the rule of law be the reality of the society. Police must be trained on Int'l standards and well equipped. There are lots of things to correct in this department. It is important for a healthy society. People needs to be educated on general civic manners, eg 'paan thookna' and 'garbage bin' usage etc through electronic media.

Unarmed all political parties (completely). Election should be done in tiers, Fedral election on first year, provincial election on 3rd year and presidential on the following 4th year, then on 5th year again another fedral election. This way the assemblies will work independently, regardless of who is in the power in central govt.

There must not be any by-pass promotion in civil service/judiciary/army. Never again. Whoever deserves the post must get it.

Balance the budge and bring silicon and manufacturing revolution in the country. Also, Pakistan could be a heaven for outsourcing global economy. A healty economy will help achieving many of the goals and dreams above. We can erase poverty from the country.

there is a lot of work that is needed
sadly i dont see any politician covering all the points u justmade
and I dont see them showing a plan on how they will do it..something with timeline and numbers and approach..nothing.
and thus, it leads me to believe that nothing will change in the short to mid term even with good intentions because no one has done their homework

Yeah, I don't see any comprehensive manifesto from PTI that address these issues in details. If he doesn't have a real plan (based on real numbers and challenges in its way) in his file, then he can be a disasterous reformer, not a successful one. We have many examples from last century.

He should put forward a solid and calculated plan coverying all these aspect of governance. Justic is the root of whole system's tree, I agree. But there is a lot more to do to reform/revive an unfortunate (but hopefull/fruitfull) ill country than just justice.

sorry u heard me wrong, its not just PTI, name any party, no one has any plan that they have made public.

so in absence of that I have to go with indication of sincerity and ethics, and in that case I cant vote for anyone but Imran.

Exactly!!! Sincerity is the main reason i always backed (or still do) Musharraff, no matter what people say but i am fully convinced that Musharraff is a sincere person who hasn't done everything right but we are yet to see what Imran can do (if he ever gets chance).

I have no reason to doubt that Musarraf or Shaukat are not sincere either.

I was referring to the opposition.

personally i do not want to see shaukat aziz as the PM, he needs to be a finance minister, he has delivered solid results in that area and let him focus on that rather than the ugliness that is out national politics.

would love to see somone sincere like Imran as the PM. even if Musharraf is Pres, I think they will be able to work together in the interest of Pakistan

respect for law and a free judiciary will solve most of our problems. The unfortunate thing with pakistan is that all the rulers become dictators and fail to accept criticism, they believe that pakistan will sink without them as they are fed on these lines by the lotas they surround themselves with. imran seems to have good working relationship with almost all political parties except MQM and that will help him in the future

Oh I thought you already omitted other parties (like many in this thread) because of their past records. Even if other parties did have a handsome plan, I would not vote them. They are all same. Politics for power and money is their real agenda.
As for Imran, he should come forward and give a solid program to the nation. He will have my vote nevertheless. He is the only option we have.

And in the thread here where I mention othe rparties is when I compare Imran fovurably to others, do you not ant me to compare him favourably to others?

and where I note that while he may have good working relationships with other parties, the truth is in past they all attacked him. a fact that is pertinent to discussion here since the point was brought up that he has good working relatuonships currently with other political parties.

respect for law at all levels, while we talk about abusing law at govt level, the fact of the matter is corruption is widespread in the population. hopefully it will hve a trickle down effect
