As you know, Directv's audience is American or english speaking public. They have a larger market then Dish, and their series rights are mainly only the english countries. Whereas Dish has lots of indian people working for them in KBS (which is their cricket and international programming administrators).
Dishnetwork's CEO, Charlie Ergen will be doing 'Charlie Chat' on Monday Dec 13. Can someone ask him on his long term strategy regarding Cricket Broadcast?. Someone needs to point out how he is going to lose desi audience for not showing all the cricket played in Aus, SA, NZ, Zim and BD.

i still think its much better offer than dishnetwork usually offers. but i think dishnetwork might win the bid of paki india series. i m kindaa confuse. i do wanna support direct tv for getting cricket on that price and on other hand they are offering only cricket in australia. i m still not decided yet but there is no way i,ll miss the series.
poonjabi munda, are you sure about this deal?. Did you talk to DirecTV directly?. I have been calling them for two days and nobody mentioned this deal to me.
punjabi moonda! did any customer service representative at directv offer you this deal? I am asking this coz when I called direcTV I was told that I will have to initially pay 150 dollars for the 36-inch dish, and they will credit me 12.50 dollars every month to cover the cost in one year. Also they said that I have to get the 100-channels plan atleast for one year which costs something like 35 dollars.
I am sure that the pak-india series will be carried by dishnetwork because they have a contract to show all the games played in India. DirecTV only got the contract for games played in Australia, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, and South Africa.

This 36" dish thingy? Help me understand, is that the normal dish or is it a bigger dish?
We have a DirecTV dish installed in our home, that the previous owner left, but its the same size as Dish Network dishes. Will it do? Plus, I think the main kharcha is receiver and not dish, since obviously I don't have the receiver for DirecTV. Right?
No. The dish is different and is larger than the typical dishnetwork dish.
Regarding the receiver, if you sign a 1-year contract, you will get the receiver and installation free.
Even though I won't be able to watch the series, since I got DishNetwork, I am happy that there is a competitor for Charlie and competition results in lower prices (hopefully this principle applies to cricket coverage in the US also :))
