At the start of 20th Century, 133 countries of the world were under rule of 6 families. They considered those colonies like their personal wealth.
Whats your opinion? Whether countries ruled the world or families were more powerful than countries?

You mean conquerors were just towards people in their own countries. Did Turkey prosper due to ruling Usmania family which belonged to Turkey? What was the forces that brought a revolution against Usmania Family?
Re: Who ruled the world? Families or Countries?
No country has ruled the entire world. However, there have been empires that have ruled the 'known' world from their perspective.
Perhaps the first great global ruler was Alexander of Macedonia (Alexander the Great)
Then there was the Roman Empire
The Holey Roman Empire
and perhaps the largest of all, The British Empire.

British Empire... Jis pe sooraj kabhi gharoob nahin hota tha.
Did England as a country prospered during colonial period or just the royal family and elite class enjoyed the powers?
Re: Who ruled the world? Families or Countries?
The nature of British empire also changed from His/Her Majesty's Government, real power got transferred to the parliament. And democracy is empowerment of people especially the british democracy, so at least in British empire prosperity of people increased.
