Who Refused to Obey Quaid-e-Azam's Order to retake Kashmir from Indians

How many of you know that Pak Army under the command of General Gracy refused to comply with Quaid-e-Azam’s order to launch an offense against Dogra Indian army in Kashmir?

These Tribal Waziris ( Ancestors of Pashtun Tribes) came forward and said Yes to Quaid-e-Azam’s command and liberated what we call " AZAD KASHMIR TODAY"

Re: Who Refused to Obey Quaid-e-Azam's Order to retake Kashmir from Indians

uh..yes and the big difference being that was an army commanded by a foreigner and a non-muslim, and this is a muslim army under command of the Govt. of Pakistan headed by muslim generals.

but i know you don't wanna hear that. :)

and who commmands our army now? from whom does it take orders and financial aid?

Not much has changed my friend

Disposing off civilian rulers

Hanging civilian Prime Ministers

Sending Prime Ministers to Exile

Military Operations against its own People

Isn't that what our army is good at?

or...am I wrong?

Re: Who Refused to Obey Quaid-e-Azam's Order to retake Kashmir from Indians

You do highlight important points, and those indeed are shameful. But for all that to be rectified there has to be a national effort on all levels, media/society/govt.

so long as we continue to have corrupt leaders whose foundation is based on dishonesty and corruption, everything following that will be murphy's law of mistakes. Pakistan Army has been under pressure from abroad, that is an open secret, but it is bound to follow the order of civilian Govt which commands it to do what it must do. it is the Civilians Govt headed by one of the most incompetent men in recent history, that is going around asking for aid. One dictator replaced by another, same policies.

don't blame the Army for following orders of GoP. Army has shown itself to be professional after the departure of ex-Gen. Parvez Musharraf, and Gen. Kiyani has been successful at keeping the Army away from politics otherwise there have been ample opportunities for the Army to take over again and many would have welcomed it.

Army is doing its best with the resources available to it.

Re: Who Refused to Obey Quaid-e-Azam's Order to retake Kashmir from Indians

this should be removed as per the notice since yesterday!! MODSSSSSSSSS

What he stated above is a 'FACT', wth is so wrong with that? It happened almost 60 years ago and has nothing to do with any recent war. General Gracy refused to obey Jinnah, its a historical fact you cant deny or hide it.

Re: Who Refused to Obey Quaid-e-Azam's Order to retake Kashmir from Indians

^^ its a fact, but this not relevant to bash Pak army on basis of a british general not obeying the orders.

Re: Who Refused to Obey Quaid-e-Azam's Order to retake Kashmir from Indians

I can understand that Pakistan, lacking trained senior officers, initially needed foreign general staff. But why on earth did it turn to the same army that provided the officers for its main regional rival?

It is not just General Gracey who refused to fight in Kashmir. Most British officers on loan to the Pakistani army in 1948 threatened to resign if sent to fight against India, because Lord Mountbatten was governor-general of India and Lord Mountbatten held the power and influence to ruin their careers if they opposed his policies.

Pakistan should have turned to a military not tied to the Indian government for its general officer class. The American army would have been unsuitable due to the racism at the time; possible the German Army's rank could have been searched for officer material.

Re: Who Refused to Obey Quaid-e-Azam's Order to retake Kashmir from Indians

The CINC refused the order not the Army at large. If Army was not ever informed by the CINC his orders to invade Kashmir then Pak Army of the time cannot be blamed for mutiny of CINC.

One more lie (and clear inaccuracy that flies in the face of historical facts).

This is obviously another effort by Islamists to malign Pak army at this important juncture in our fight for survival as nation.

Those who don’t know much about the war of 1948 may end up believing in the untruths and rumors being spread by the supporters of beghairat Talibans and .

Here are some facts.

How the Kashmir uprising started and the state of Pak army in August 1947

The war of Kashmir started even before August 1947 with the uprising of 60,000 Punch Muslim veterans of WW-II. The reason was that Maharaja of Kashmir tried to disarm them. Pak army’s combat capability was almost non-existent in August 1947. The reason is that army’s need both men and material. But most of the material for British-Indian army was in the areas that became India. There were 6 almost non-functioning tanks, few trucks, a small stock of field guns and very very limited ammo and no airplanes. Many of those officers hadn’t even graduated from the still-in-infancy Kakool Academy. Still Pakistani army officers obeyed the orders of Jinnah and reported for the duty. And they arranged the logistics and procured limited amount of weapons and distributed them to the regular army jawans and the volunteers.

Controversial role of Tribals

Many tribals responded to the call of Pak army officers. The reason is that the same officers were using these tribals to fight Wazirastani terrorism as late as 1942.

Among the Pashtun tibes, there was only one disciplined group who had fought disciplined wars in FATA and Afghanistan for the previous 100+ years. And these good tribe is the afridi tribe. The same Afridi tribes joined in as militia (the predecessor of modern day Frontier Corps and Levies).

The rest of the rag tags tribals were so uncouth that they started looting, killing and kidnapping Kashmir women.

They disobeyed Pak army officers’ clear orders, not to rape, pillage, and loot Kashmiris.

However the tribals didn’t listen and we got bogged down at the outskirts of Sri Nagar.

This gave a breather to the Indians and they started using their airforce. Again the undeciplned tribals ran away like scared dogs even at the sight of plane even when the plane had no guns or no bombs. Indian army also used the time airlift their troops into Sri Nagar.

Thus the modern day Azad Kashmir is the result of Pak army officers, jawans, and Afridid tribes.

And the reason we couldn’t take Sri Nagar was that we didn’t have airforce, tanks, supplies, but above all the despicable role of non-Afridi tribals. Had these dimwits not killed non-Muslim Kashmiris, kidnapped Kashmiri women, the Sri Nagar population would have welcomed them and Kashmir problem would have been over.

Read Joseph Korbel, and other writeup. And do not listen to the terror sympathizers. These people are the Beghairat agents of Hindus and Arabs.

True, in essence there was no Pak Army back then (well except maybe in the imaginative mind of burqaposh).

In some sense your are right. Pakistani army did not exist in the way of a well-equipped combat force of the day.

However Pak army officers and jawans had tones of experience in the art of modern war-fighting. These officers and jawans had been part of the combat duties against Germans and Japanese in WWII and earned great respect from both the foes and the friends.

The same officers had a lot of experience fighting the tribal anarchists and terrorists in modern day FATA (especially uncouth Waziri trouble makers) and Afghanistan.

So in essence Pak army had all the necessary building blocks of a modern combat force in 1947 as far men are concerned. The only thing needed was the material and a couple of years worth of organizational and logistical setup. No wonder that within few years after 1947, Pakistani army was able to form a cohesive, combat ready modern force. The force that was well respected by UK and US, and the force that was feared by the tribal terrorists at home and abroad (especially Middle East).

Thanks for sharing burqaposhx............

I would like to add that somewhere on the Kashmir front when troops were being gathered for assault against the Pakistan Volunteers.........the Pakistan Armys local Commander used a very innovative tactic of putting a tank track on a Jeep........

He made his soldiers run this Jeep all night to make it sound like Tanks were being brought in to the Battle.......

Next morning When Pakistani Volunteers attacked the Indians had already dispersed and retreated.........expecting a Tank assault....:)

this commanders name ........General Akbar...
