Hello all, wondering if you could help. Im not a parent. Me and the husband work full time and don’t have access to either side of the extended family for future babysitting duties (not a given that they’d agree even if we did!). I’ve always wanted to raise our children (God willing) ourselves and not rely on childminders, nannies, au-pairs. However, modern life is what it is and we both enjoy our jobs. My worry is managing career and children. How do you manage? Have either of you given up your careers to be a parent? Have you both gone part-time so you can share parental duties AND keep your career going? Do you have access to family to babysit whilst you’re both at work? Do you employ someone to look after baby? How does this happen? I’m getting slightly stressed thinking about how things will be when/if our time comes. Help!
