Who is your friend ?

So many thread about rants against friends so I thought why not I start one. So here you go:

Ahmad Faraz Said:
Tum Takkal luf ko bhi akhlas samajh tay ho Faraz
Dost hota nahi her hath meelanay wala.

So what do you think is the difference between an acquaintance and a friend.
Please give your definition of a friend and the kind of traits you want to see in your friends.

Re: Who is your friend ?

A friend, to me, is one who is always with you. Virtually even if not physically. The one you always feel an urge to share things with, happy and sad, the both. Someone who would accept and acknowledge you with all your negative and positive traits, and the ones who would never turn their backs to you. The one you would always recognise as your friends even if you both donot meet, or are not in touch any more. It will be endless if i go on so i'll stop right here.

Regarding the second part of your second query, no. I do not really look forward for any traits in my friends, coz not only that it will limit my insight for them, it will also prove futile since we can never have everyone just as per our expectations, and we'll end up in losing them, so its better we accept them just the way they are.

Re: Who is your friend ?

As someone said, "True friendship comes when the silence between the two of you is comfortable."

This goes for both regular and virtual friends. Some of my best friends are virtual who I may not even have seen.

Re: Who is your friend ?

Virtual = Imaginary . No ?

Re: Who is your friend ?

No, virtual as in on=line

Re: Who is your friend ?

FRIEND....&........AQUAINTANCE

  • **A real friend is one who walks in when ** the rest of the world walks out.
  • However rarer true love is, true friendship is rarer.
  • A single rose can be my aquaintance,.... *a single friend, my world.*

Re: Who is your friend ?

^ agreed :k:
sometimes online friends are easier to talk to…you can open up more with them then people you know and met in person.

To me an aquaintance is someone you barely see and/or hardly talk to. It’s someone you make “small talk” with.

A friend is someone you confide in, someone you trust. They always have your best interest in mind and want whats best for you. A friend will always tell you “like it is” and will be honest with you even if it’s something you dont want to hear. A friend will never backstab you and talk behind your back. Most of all a friend (even if they are non-muslim) will always make dua for you and encourage you to live your life in the way of Allah (SWT).

this is what a friend is to me.

it’s no wonder I dont have too many of them :bummer:

Re: Who is your friend ?

  1. Or atleast you hope they will
  2. Its better to have a few good ones than a lot of not so good ones/advanced acquaintances
