I was always mesmerised by the songs of Mohammed Rafi since childhood. I am still one of his staunchest fan. Hardly ever any day passes when I don’t listen to this ligendary singer. Yesterday I spent whole day listening to one of his song composed by great Madan Mohan and still felt thirsty to listen more and more. Guess what it was? I would give a little clue: This particular song was one of the last composition of the master composer. If you are a Hindi music fan then you would immediately recognize this song. Yes it was the great immortal classic tune from Laila Majnu with these lyrics by Shakil Badayuni " Tuu Sab Kuchh Janey Hai Har Gam Pahchane Hai…Jo Dil Ki Uljhan Hai Sab Tujh Pe Roshan Hai.. Ghaayal Parwaanaa Hoon Wahshi Diwaanaa Hoon… Mai Tere Dar Pe Ayaa Hoon.."
And today I am listening to another great tune by S.D. Burman, sung by great Rafi with these lyrics “Kahin Bekhayaal Hokar…”. I think no other singer in the world can sing this song so beautifully. It’s only Rafi and only Rafi can…

yea some of Mohammad Rafi’s songs are really great and even if they are from a different generation, the lyrics are really beautiful in most of his songs. Rafi’s a legend and nobody can touch his singing abilities.
I have way too many fav singers but lately i’m really liking Zubin Garg’s voice and he sounds so great in that new song in Ismail Darbar’s first album. I think the song title is “Rasiyan Sajan”. He sings it in such a soulful way :jano:
Rafi is a legend. Words can not describe his mastery over *sur & Taal *not to mention Raag. I have not heard him singing Pure classical other than *Madho ban main radhika nachey. *And he has sung one of the most difficult songs so beautifully and with full commond over Raag.
Other than his countless melodious numbers few songs which I would say were unlike Rafi that he sung and have done justice with them. For instance Mohabbat Zindabad, the loud and high pitch anthem in Mughal-e-Azam, Aja aja main hoon payar tera, *from the movie Bal Barhamachari. *These are just few of the many difficult songs which he sung with full command over sur taal.
Great singer like Muhammad Rafi, Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali khan and Madam Noor Jahan... We realize their greatness when we hear other singer singing song which were originally sung by them. Only then we are able to distinguish these master artisian from ordinary singers
without doubt Rafi is the best singer ever to have graced this planet.
