In The Interpreter of Maladies you’ll come across this story that will make you go…“WTH???” It makes me laugh because it’s the one that tends to stand out in people’s minds. My sister and my friend who read it were like “what the …how the…heck happened.” It’s the one with the girl who so badly wants to get married and her neighbors help her out. I’m curious to know if you, Muqawee, will also react in one of the following ways or maybe a combination:

Short stories must end with or There should be some shock element. I feel cheated when I have to do for wasting time.
