Are smokers to be blamed for their addiction ? Are alcoholic responsible for their misery? What about hashish , opium , heroin , LSD ?
So are the addicts victims or it is their own doing. Who should be blamed those who sell that stuff or those who start using them and then at one point of time are helpless to quit ?
Re: Who is to be blamed ?
We are each to be blamed for our actions. End of discussion. Close this thread ![]()

cigarettes are not illegal .. so we cannot compare them with other drugs. For illegal stuff, both parties are responsible (buyer and seller) ..
for legal stuff, user should take the 100 % responsibilty. ..

Looking at the havoc cigarette causes on the smokers and other passive smokers it should be illegal to smoke. One day that will happen for now there are laws banning smoking in many many places that to me is start of that revolution.

it should be .. but the amount of money that govt makes off the taxes on tobacco sales ... i doubt if its going to be banned anytime soon
GS pay tala laga k ghar jain ? What is GS about ? Discussion, raving and ranting ? No ?
Instead of pointing fingers, it is best that everyone accept their own responsibility and contribution in the situation and take appropriate action. As an individual, you are responsible for your own well-being. To a certain extent you might be able to say that a dysfunctional childhood is the cause for your substance abuse. Parents might even blame themselves for not being more involved in the substance abuse education of their children. And while family upbringing may be a factor......you as an individual ALWAYS had the option NOT to go down that path. But YOU chose to do it...and you can also choose to stop. In spite of all the influences that lead you down the path of destruction.........in the end it all boils down to your decisions as an individual.
Those that sell cigarettes/alcohol are also guilty. While these businesses don't FORCE anyone to buy their products.......they do entice the audience through advertising and marketing strategies. And these companies are FULLY AWARE that their products are addictive and fatal.....yet they continue to sell their poison for money. The addiction of the consumer only works to their advantage and they are aware of that......and they don't care. They are guilty as well.

It is self inflicted… and i don’t believe this ‘they are more prone to it… it’s in their genes’ malarky either ![]()
And to think i pay my taxes for them to damage themselves… then for the NHS to use our tax money to fix them ![]()
