No, it looks like Paul Adams of SA and this Pic was taken during the Lahore test after which Akhter was banned...thats my guess.
Yes, definitely a South African player because look at the green helmet at the non striker's end. And the only test series Pakistan played in october 2003 was against SA. Ummm, it's really hard to tell who the player could be. My guess is Gibbs, I've seen him play shots like that one. But still it could be anyone.
