Well, I would not like to accuse anyone of lying for no reasons or accuse people of being liar on not so blatant lies. So, when you asked for reason of considering them liars (why one consider that they are liar?), it is really important. To me the biggest liars, those whom I believe as habitual liars in Pakistan politics are:
Liar No 1: Ahsan Iqbal **
**Liar No 1: Ishaq Daar.
(They are both joint holder of No 1 position. These two to me are not only blatant liars but are also habitual liars and could not be trusted for anything).
Reason: I know how a country’s economy works and also recognise figures when presented. Further, when someone presents a figure that I do not know, I remember and make sure to do my own research whenever I find time, to confirm. I have been watching Pakistan economical situations and policies closely since Bhutto time and know a lot of what was happening during earlier years too. Hence when anyone lies about Pakistan present economical situation or of anytime in past, it is not difficult for me to see the lies, especially when such lies are blatant and too obvious.
I have seen many talk shows since Musharraf freed the media and these two (Ahsan and Daar) have come on TV many times, especially Ahsan Iqbal. I do not remember a single program in which these two did not lie on TV blatantly. Hence I consider them two as the Kings of liars. Actually, Ahsan Iqbal was far in front for me until Ishaq Daar made TV presentation with Sherry Rahman once he became finance minister after election. Most funny thing in that TV presentation was that Ishaq Daar was contradicting figures he himself was presenting on TV. His blatant and continuous lies for hours made me rethink and realise that Ishaq Daar leads Ahsan Iqbal as ‘Master liar’ hands down, because one can see some embarrassments in the eyes of Ahsan Iqbal when he lies, but Ishaq Daar though showed confusion but had little embarrassments.
Nawaz Shareef: I did considered him corrupt but lesser corrupt than Zardari and though I always considered PPP a better party as far as policies were concerned I always supported PML because to me PPP was never genuine in implementation of their policies and lies to fool people. To me, PML policies may not be so poor friendly but party was more committed to Pakistan. Anyhow, barrage of lies from Ahsan Iqbal, Ishaq Daar and lower class sickening and disgusting behaviour of especially Saad Rafeeq and some to lower extend Khawja Asif on TV, made me feel disgusted about this group. Nawaz government behaviour with Sajjad Ali Shah, his pet dog like behaviour with Clinton under pressure on Kargil and agreeing to withdraw, his continuous lies regarding knowledge of Kargil operation, and his way of trying to SACK and replace Army Chief (Musharraf) on behest of USA plus the way he started lying blatantly about his agreements after getting kicked to Saudia, plus his sickening behaviour in politics during last few years made me rethink of Nawaz Shareef. Anyhow, I consider Nawaz as the third biggest liar after above two as I can confirm his lies regarding his agreements and conditions of deportation to Saudi Arabia.
Liar No 3: Nawaz Shareef
As for rest of Pakistani politicians: I know that most in Pakistan politics lie to some extends, especially regarding their assets, their promises and their intentions, but I could not call any of them blatant liars as above three.
