baDee sohNee gal keetee hai tussan Sher Gee.
you abs. deserve ur subtitle.
well i say this with no offence to my sikh brothers but among the punjabis well we hardly have any punjabi muslim in india
i find punjabi hindus more sophisticated
i think sikhs have more of a village mentality and are far more voilent and unmannered .i prefer punjabi hindu anytime
Kabir,
wooooooooo, a lot of statements in just a few lines without any details or reasons.
Can you answer one little Q. please?
Do you think that one is doin good by expressing such stuff with a simple intro like :........with no offence to my sikh brothers...?
Even not being a sikh, (somehow i still feel related), i felt insulted!
Kabir,
How many punjabi Sikhs have you met ? And what’s wrong with having a “village mentality” (whatever the hell that means)? Punjabi Sikhs are one of the most hardworking people I’ve ever met. They are also some of the most friendly people I’ve met. I simply loved their philosophy – work hard, earn money and spend it
. In fact I found Punjabis living outside of Punjab (in Maharashtra – Mumbai, Pune etc) not as friendly or as cultured – Hindus especially. Don’t know what experiences others have had.
I think Kabir nawaN nawaN shehar ayea ay…let him feel good about it:) Look at the rent he is paying, the smoke/smog he is inhaling, the eyes he has to close while passing by the 50% of the citymates that slept on the streets last night…he should feel better about all this sacrifice he is making to be cultured by living in the city. Who knows some day he might become our PM and actually think about teaching culture to paindoos…
Villages have a culture which is different than cities. Both have some good and bad points…and worse of all is poor access to good education in villages. Other than that I have seen some smart people come out of damn villages…many of our great poets, writers, actors and leaders have come out of villages.
Most sophisticated Punjabi hindus have sophisticated Sikh members of their extended families. Punjabi Katris and Arora families are mixed they have Hindu and Sikh members. If you will find Punjabi Katri and Arora with common last names. There are lot of average punjabi hindus who are not sophisticated. Muslim Punjabis mostly have their roots in rural punjab. Are you talking about sophisticated Punjabis or Pakistani Punjabis..I am confused.
i think it is a plain flame bait by kabir. ignore.
P.S. kabir, does it make you happy that hrithik roshan can trace his ancestry to pakistani punjab, since roshan (music director) was from there and of course amitabh's mother is sikh.

iam sorry if i have offended any of sikh brothers here my intention was not to hurt them .well asll i intended to say was that among the punjabis and here iam talking about indian punjabis hindus and sikhs cause there is no muslim punjabi alive in india and if there are they are very negligeble
well iam talking about the punjabi sikhs and hindus and bombay pune and delhi among them i always found hindu punjabis more sophisticated and well mannered than thier sikh counterparts
well iam talking about the punjabi sikhs and hindus and bombay pune and delhi among them i always found hindu punjabis more sophisticated and well mannered than thier sikh counterparts
But they are same people Kapoors are Punjabi Hindus and also Sikhs so are Chopra's, Lamba's, Saigal's Verma's Chadha's Sawaney's etc etc....you may have come across some individuals you like, if anything Sikhs are more generous and open minded due to the influence of religious teaching (no offence to anybody).

I have lot of very good Punjabi Hindu friends in fact my majority of the class at school was Hindu punjabi...what i am trying to tell you...Khatri and Arora Sikh Punjabi families are mixed they have Hindu and Sikh members for example my husband's mother is from Hindu punjabi family and my sister's mother-in-law is also from Hindu Punjabi family. Most of the Hindu Punjabis go to Gurdwara and believe in Sikhism. I realize your knowledge of Punjabis and their culture is very limited therefore it is hard for you to understand what i am saying. The rural Jat Punjabis are either Sikhs or muslims, the others are either Sikhs or Hindus. Sikh is not a race it is a religion anybody can become Sikh, some Punjabis became Sikh and some remained Hindu in most Hindu Punjabi families the eldest son became Sikh. Sikh Khatri and Aurora families are very mixed they have Hindu and Sikh family and intermarriage among them is very common.
So long...

rani
i know what your talking about but belive it or not there is a clar divide here in india between the sikhs ( turban ,sardars)and non sikh ounjabis thats is hindus .
rani i know there was a time when the eldest son used to be brought up as a sikh but that was many many years ago after 1984 these things have reduced to negligible numbers and hardly any hindu family now brings up thier child as a sikh all this has happened after the sikh militancy started
belive me rani here in urban india and iam talking about outside punjab
hindu punjabis dont even speak punjabi they are more into hindi inspite of knowing punjabi they speak hindi at home (iam talking about delhi bombay pune etc)
and rani iam talking from india and i know the ground realities here iam not talking from canada or uk
brother pj we have no doubt about that.
we are proud of the muslim punjabi legends and people like allama iqbal will always be a inspiration for us brother pj you will be glad to know that though iam a pathan but my ancesters were from dist rawalpindi of punjab pakistan so iam also a sort of punjabi
Punjabis have many different ethnic backgrounds and ancestory, for example Sayyeds, Pathans, Greek (Alexanders) Mongols, Turks, Arab, Central Asian, as well as indigenous groups as Jatt, Rajput, gujjar etc.
So Iqbal is a Punjabi, my ancestors came from Central Asia but i’m Pakistani Punjabi through and through.
I was born and brought up in New Delhi...you are very mixed up, you think Sikh is a race and people of one particular race became Sikhs not true. Sikhs come from all classes of Punjabi society therefore you cannot generalize. Most of the Sikhs are Punjabis and are as diverse as Punjabi society. Number of people in my family are Hindu Punjabi are you telling me that they are different people i don't think so. As i said you have very limited knowledge and don't want to learn.
