Who is the most followed aalim today

Its not meant literaly. Its just like saying "team A is a million times better then team B".

Namaz is never forgiven as an obligation. All this means that being in the company of a shiekh is akin to prayer-both are a state of worship of Allah.

I dont think its good that we give the reference of namaz like you gave in your post this could be misleading to many people. As they say "Faith is the strongest and weakest link of a person"

And even if we accept your example of "team a is million times better..." this still means that Mulaqat is better than Namaz (Na-Aoozubillah).

We should be very careful when talking about the religion.

Thats my believe.

These ppl pale in comparison to Grand Shiekh, Sheikh Muhammad Nazim Qubrisi Nashqbandi. He is the blessing of the Muslims and Allah's chosen one of this Earth and this time.

The Shiekh of the age. Bounty and aql flow from them like a river. Sitting in their esteemed presence for 1 minute is more rewarding them 1 million namaz. :)

You must be joking!!! how can a human being have 1 million namaz sawab wgile just been in company of another human being? Evem Muhammad (PBUH) never said something like that and Sahabas along with Muhammad (PBUH) got up for namaz and not sit there ..

Now to be a musim one has to follow Muhammad (PBUH) .. does ur Grand Sheikh follow Muhammad's sunnah like these:

  • sit with other human beings at same level and not on some grand stage except khuta time.
  • wear same clothes and not silky as Muhammad (PBUH) wore same clothes as all.
  • work to earn his own living like Muhammad (PBUH) did or is eating others contributions.
  • Does any humanitarian work like our Prophet (PBUH() did like helping flood victims, struggle for social justice in Pakistan etc.

If he doesnt do the above hes not a good muslim let alone being a leader of muslims and guide others..

Plus why he has got such a long name.. ist doesnt seem a Pakistani name.. and why should we follow him.. did he done any research on Islam and wrote any books , given any great lectures ...

1) He is a very pious man. On the occasions I have met him he does not elevate himself. He is humble like all real saints.

2) His work is the promotion of Islam, although he has a degree in Chemical Engineering (something like that).

3) He's Turk-Cypriot.

Degas, see my above few posts.

How can being in company of a same human being be like worshipping Allah !

Basic faith of Islam is that thee are are no hurdles between God and man.. we r encouraged to reach him directly without any intermediate stage.. Muhammad (PBUH) always taught to pray directly to God.. Is there any guarantee that the person you are refering will go to heaven himself .. how can this human being compared to Muhammd (PBUH) and even his company doesnt meant as praying to Allah.. He (PBUH) only guided to true path.. All human beings are equal and have equal chance to reach God.. thats the essence of humanity and religion Islam.

^^ :k:

Exactly

angelo.....it is fine if u have aqeedat with some one but it should not be like "every one else is chronic"....there can be many ppl wo r like him...........plz give some experts from his writings as to what he believes etc..............

Bihari:

You were asking about Syed Ali Sistani and Ali Shariati. They are two different people.

Syed Ali Sistani is a mujtahid who has the majority of shias doing his taqleed.

Ali Shariati (may Allah bless him) was a world renowned scholar and thinker. more like a a persian version of Allamah Iqbal.

Their are a number of good scholars out there, but unfortunately we do not have one unified leader for the Muslim community. This is a sign of the times.

As far as sitting in the presence of any human and comparing it to 1 million Salaats is not far short of committing Shirk for me. Even in the Qur'aan the action of one good deed is only multilpied by 10 and not one million! And this is a direct order from Allah SWT.

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

Prof. Tahir-ul-Qadri has a large following...............

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

I personally follow Hazrat Mufti Gomma of Jama Al Azhar (ahle sunnah wal jamaat)

I also have great respect for some of the ahle tashee scholars too but dont know too many of their names. The only two I've heard of are Hasan Nasrullah **and **Sistani.

Sheraz CT and others,

Please let me know if you know about any of sites for Hasan Nasrullah.

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

What about Dr. Israr Ahmed & the other professor from Turkey who has a web page under the name Harun Yahya, although his real name is different.

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

Ayatollah Syed Ali Sistani

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

Sistani is the most followed by shias...
If we are talking general rules then most people tend to refer to old scholars and the four main schools of thought...and for shias its imam Jaffer...
Just a question to those who speak about Qardawi...someone told me he condones riba...true?...

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

how come none of these sunni scholers condemn shia killings in iraq? these fanatics are murdering shias daily but we don't hear any fatwa against these barbaric killings

many times Ayutallah Sistani told shias to show patience and not kill innocent sunnis but unfortunately none of the sunni scholers issue any fatwa

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

Another one who has a very large following and also has materials coming up in English as well is Amr Khaled.

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

How about Hasan Nasrullah?

Do you guys (ahle tashee) follow him? Whats his status? Whats ayatola?

I asked you guys about any of his sites, if you bother to reply ;)

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

^^

As I understand, Hasan Nasrallah is only a minor scholar who is of more political than religious importance to Shias. He is nowhere near the religious importance of someone like Sistani.

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

Shiraz CT! I am a sunni but I agree whatever you wrote here.

Re: Who is the most followed aalim today

What about pir altaf husein...
