Re: Who is the bigger sinner

While pollution of the Earth is wrong even if it’s done by one person, this particular religious family that you 're talking about is not solely to blame. Pollution of the environment is caused by the very religious, the less religious, the agnostics, the atheists, and even the satanists. Didn’t think this through did you? Now if you’re going to “comeback” at me with more examples of religious families who pollute our planet and even more examples of less religious or irreligious or liberal people who are tree huggers, save your breath. Plus it will only make people question your agenda…which will read even more like an attack on religious folks and less about the plight of the environment.

Religious people are not farishtay. They make mistakes, both unintentionally and deliberately. The people who are more vigilant about the environment are not farishtay either…for, they too, may be committing dire mistakes in other aspects of their lives. Maybe they are careful about the natural environment, but are careless with the social environment and thus engage in actions that are socially harmful. Did you think of this angle?

You want our opinion as to “who” is the bigger sinner? Why? Allah best knows the answer to that question. If, deep down, you believe that this particular religious family thinks they’re more righteous than everyone else, then what you’re doing is no different from that religious family. You, too, are looking down on that family…moreover you’re hoping to get members on this forum to do a collective “shunning” of this religious family to validate your own personal contempt for them. Have you wondered if YOU might be a bigger sinner than this family? Shun the ACT or sin but leave the judging of who is overall a bigger or lesser sinner to Allah alone.

Most, if not all, religions don’t approve of environmental pollution. If the followers of the religions are lax or careless with preservation of the environment, it’s not an indication of a fault in the religion nor does it indicate that following religion is wrong…it indicates a flaw in the individual that he/she needs to work on. Apart from the religious people on the forum, I believe that even the agnostics and atheists on here would find your post to be flawed and will question your intention.
