I only argued about SRT being better than Lara about which there is no doubt in minds of non-pakistanis, whether that is Boycott ('if there was ever a debate about individual skills of lara and SRT, it is a matter of past' thus spake Boycott ) or Chappel or McGrath. BTW, in best test batsman, u dont find Steve and SRT, but find inzi, as funny as it goes.

Jasleen, the above statistics u quote is only for an year and SRT and Steve have played fewer tests this year (6 each) SRT has same average as Inzamam (12 tests). As far as Andy Flower is concerned, I do not think he can be taken as specialist batsman just considering one year's performance. I chose Gilchist over Andy Flower which could be debated. But Gilchrist has same average as Flower and is a better keeper. Andy muffled some chances in India. Of course, I wont have much objection if someone dropped Gilchrist and took Flower.

Kaka.. Ganguly is no way a good test batsman. Apart from his first series, he did little to show. However, Ganguly is most valuable player of India in ODI's. More valuable than Sachin in ODI.
Bevan's average in inflated by number of not-outs he gets. But he is mediocre, in my opinion. I would rate Razzak above Bevan.

i,ve hardly seen bevan fail, hes solid as a rock, n i didnt put his name because of his average, but because he just is great,have a look at his record, and if ur not convinced, go n look at his county record for sussex…
that,ll probably really open ur eyes…
dont take all the credit from him by saying his average is good because hes not out most of the times,hes a gr8 batsman, n the best right now in odi’s.
as far as ganguly goes, i prefer him over tendulkar or lara, cos lara is just totally inconsistent, n tandulkar, welll he isnt a very good player when it comes to tough teams, so ganguly is my choice because hes pretty solid n consistent.

Well its really difficult to tell which player is the best, because there are 3 different departments in the game, and evry department has also sub categories, like while battting there is an opener, middle order n in recent yrs something called as inch hitter has also become apart, so as i said u cannot tell one person who can do evrything
well i think Sachin is a good batsman, lekin afsos ke indian hai, sorry to say that thou, n Wasim Akram is the best bowler for me as he is simply gr8!!!!
