OK....i was taking it a funny way but paid a bit more attention to these news and decided to do some search and from what i found out, really disappointed with india fans...as always!

if you go to maria's FB page, you will see that there are close to 40,000 comments posted in last 24 hours on her latest status update that she made on July 2nd on a topic not even relevant to tendulkar..forget what is goingg on at twitter!

i didnt get a chance to check all 40,000 but i did check several thousands and all of them were by indians on tendulakr topic.....as reported by some sources, almost all 40K belonged to tendulkar topic posted by indians.........a lot of abusive language as well...russian *****, stupid, go to hell blah blah

guys, 40,000 comments...and that too in 24 hours....... damn!

and we are still counting... mind you these are not uneducated rural Indians. they are all from urban base...

40k comments in relation to something which is really trivial...shows how insecure indians are!

Now i know this is a strong statement and one can say that 40K do not represent 1.2B+ indians....but this is precisely what my experience has been with indians in USA in person and on many forums and i have pointed this many times....no matter what the topic is, you cannot debate with them rationally.

They get defensive and hot headed right away. It is good to have a nationalistic attitude but their is a difference between being positively nationalistic and being totally insecure. Unfortunately indians are way too insecure right now. You cannot point any weakness to them....politically, culturally, financially....

maria is truly a global icon with 13M facebook fans from all 100+ countries...those fans will be looking at indians' comments and must be thinking what the hell...how insecure these folks are

what poor tendulkar earned in 24 years, indian fans destroyed in 24 hours!

Come on PD after talking to such level headed Indians such as me, Southie , KKF even queer and kaka you still say that :) can't be said about all Indians. Indian fans of subcontinent especially hardcore ones are special category.
I don't know why but seems people have interesting experience with Indian Americans
How many of those comments were repeated by same members? That's like saying the 25000 people who liked ban Bollywood in Pakistan on 1 fb page somehow represents a greater number.we know that's not true because lots of Pakistanis like Bollywood just like many Indians like pakistani dramas and songs. :) or that threads by some educated Pakistanis living abroad on why visiting relatives in India is bad and not patriotic is not representative at all

I would honestly really like to see Sharapova take a stand against the extremely crass and desperate sexist hate and misogynistic attacks she’s been receiving on social media from Indian cricket fans. It’s not on. It’s vile, and not knowing Tendulkar is not a crime!

It’s like saying all indian men are creepy because incidents happen in India. I agree she should take a stand against misogynist comments no matter who it’s from. Lot of Indians like cricket commentator Harsha bogle spoke out against it and said he’s appalled.

some of the fans I'm sure not all. 40000 comments can be hardly reflective of all fans. He is bit of an introverted type but hopefully he will say something just like Harsha did. Now that he is retired I'm not sure his image is as important to him or that he would put himself in the limelight. something he shunned when he was a cricketer .
